I think Ferrell and Binder would make a great safety tandem, if Ferrell ever plays again.

Maybe the Gods heard me last year at the NCCU game when I saw with my own two eyes, Binder run down a db from Central and the db had a good ten yards on him. I then said he should be a safety instead of linebacker. But now that he's played linebacker and has moved to safety that helps the run defense in and of itself. But we still need some bigger bodies on the defensive line....no doubt. Which side of the ball was Binder on? Wasn't that Raper that ran down the db? I'm kind of fuzzy, but I though that it was an offensive player.

It was special teams that set up for the extra point which was blocked by NCCU and a db picked the ball up to run it the other way, which is 2 points in college and Binder ran him down, it was the most impressive play in the whole game, my opinion. All my uncles (NCCU alums) were like, that kid needs to be playing on offense.

Lasy year I felt like Lee didn't recruit enough defensive tackles. Derrius Hamlet & Eric Young were the only two as I recall?

Can we recruit anybody this year at all??? Because if we can, it sounds like the few schollys we do have need to go toward d-lineman.

The only prop 48 not with us that I am aware of is the kid from Hillside. He had to go to JUCO. Oak Ridge didn't help him much with D-1 entrance requirements.
The rest can't practice until August by NCAA rules. I warn you now that Rod Broadway will not be very forth coming about transfers or new players until just before camp starts.
He has ice water in his veins when you approach that subject but he didn't appear to be panicky but just honest about the 55 players he had out there yesterday.
Key word being yesterday. That's just the way he has always operated so we better get used to it.

Well, no beef here on the way he is running his show. But, most posters here are concerned about the defensive line and after what I witnessed last year, I can't bear to see another season like that.

The most blaring improvement was in tackling. And defense starts with tackling. Now we need to teach our young undersized D line to get off of blocks. Use speed to your advantage. Unless Broadway has a rabbit to pull out of his hat, I don't think you're gonna find any big bodies with walk on's. Maybe Someone knows of a Juco player that we can convince to come here.

I agree Monster, I saw a lot of improvement. I am not saying that right now they are capable of winning a lot of games but their seems to be some improvements. I know our QB play was not outstanding to say the least but I feel that Ricky Lewis has improved a lot from last year. His potential is becoming a lot clearer. Must be the new QB coach!!!!

I assume that all of the QBs will be working from now until fall practice begins. So there is opportunity for them to continue to improve. Lewis' arm strength didn't appear to be too shabby on some of his passes.
