personally, if we could afford it, i'd have no problem with a jumbo screen. so i'm not against it, i just don't think we can "afford" it. however, i definitely disagree that we don't "need" a new pressbox. the old one was very inadequate, borderline embarrassing for an fcs program. even though i'm very unlikely to ever use it, i definitely feel the new pressbox is sorely needed. it will encourage coverage from the media for our events, it gives our leadership a means to bring in corporate sponsors, it gets our coaches out of the elements during games, and it enhances the look of the overall stadium. on the other hand, a jumbo screen is just something nice to have, not a necessity, and definitely doesn't generate revenue... I agree as well the Press Box will generate a buzz. But if we turn out a losing season I can imagine there will be plenty of talk about wasted money. Regardless of a screen or no screen I can see us catching flack over the press box. If we are going to spend what we dont have we should have went ahead and did it like we wanted. Oh well I guess we can all argue about money that isnt ours. Maybe one day I can up my giving stream enough to get us a screen. Oleschool im sure you have enough spare change in your couches to get us a few extra amenities around the stadium. bred, my friend, it'll take far more than the change in my couch to purchase a few amenities. and to me, i wouldn't align the need for a new pressbox with winning or losing. whether we win or lose, we still need a new pressbox. now, if someone suggested adding more seats (other than the pressbox) to aggie stadium, i would align that enhancement with winning or losing. as long as we're losing far more games than we win, i'd oppose any recommendation to add more seats in aggie stadium. however, even though i like the natural grass surface that we have, i'd luv to see the new field turf added to aggie stadium. of course, its not necessary and would probably negate any irrigation or drainage systems already in place, but i think field turf looks much more attractive than natural grass. but its not something i'd place a high priority on, just another one of those things that would be nice to have...

I still think they need a jumbo screen on the back portion of the sky box facing the tailgate section. How much extra could it cost and it could be used for any sport including track not to mention student events. Please explain the need , and i stress need, to have a jumbo screen on the outside of the stadium , for non paying customers. If you provide this, people will never come inside the stadium. Now, having monitors in the concourse area is a good idea , that way if you have to go to the restroom ,or concession stands you won't miss too much. The new skybox will have numerous advantages when it comes to the coaches, media and corporate sponsorship.

The jumbo screen could be a great revenue source (sponsor ads, etc) and marketing tool (game promotions)...but I would never be in-favor of broadcasting any live action of the game on the screen on gameday.

Why not just rent a portable video screen for major Games such as NCCU, WSSU (if we ever play them again), The G.H.O.E, and other games where the demand exceeds the capacity of Aggie Stadium...It could be placed right beside the Sound stage/Pregame Entertainment Area that we already have in the Tailgate area? Homecoming is the only game we usually have a sell out. We have to be careful not to give incentive for not coming inside.

NCCU used those when we played them, but it was for overflow people that PAID.

I don't think a screen would keep people from coming in. It would be great for sponsors and also playing certain things such as scores. Players Stats, big plays etc.
When you talk about charging to come into a Fan Zone it has to be incentivie. People that want to see the game will come into the stadium. You wont neglect ticket prices by having a screen outside.

Still think that we are a long ways from that point yet. We need to fill the stadium up on a consistent basis . We have blank sponsor spots on the jumbotron inside the stadium. Other than the new skybox , the only thing we need for next year is a good paint job.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to do if homecoming sold out, but thats as far as I would take it. Homecoming hasn't sold out in a few years now. Close, but no cigar.

Other than the new skybox , the only thing we need for next year is a good paint job. It is my understanding that those Spots on the Screen are being taken care of... For aesthetic purposes, I wouldn't mount a giant screen on the external side of the pressbox, BUT a portable one in the tailgate areas wouldn't be a bad idea...
