Maybe we can start 2011 off w/a BANG!!!!! With one of the 2 dates open on our schedule I would put either Greensboro College, Guilford College, GTCC, The East Market Street Overpass Packers, or the Greensboro Pee Wee League Champions on the schedule. That way we get a win and have a great local turn out!! Then we can ALL tailgate and do the DOUGIE behind AGGIE STADIUM!!!! YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!!! BORN and BRED

I believe one of those open dates will be against Elon. I was told this a few months back. Yeah that was talked about. That would be a toughie, even with their coach gone and the loss of some of their key people. Broadway knows he has a tough row to hoe with the shortage of scholarships, a defensive line to rebuild, among other limitations. Patience will be the watch word this season.

If Broadway stays to his normal pattern, we'll find someone to open with that will be a walk over to see what he has to work with talent wise and get the kinks out with a new set of players in his system as he did at both GSU and NCCU. Is it really up to Broadway, or is that an AD function?

Is it really up to Broadway, or is that an AD function? Its ultimately up to the AD, but "good" AD's normally listen to their coach's opinion on it unless there is a lot of money involved. I've heard things like "That bastard trying to set me up to fail" from coaches that have gone toe to toe with their ADs.

Do we go lighter or heavier or one of each in year one for these two games? We already have App and the rest of the MEAC. That might be enough to start with.

That might be enough to start with. if it were up to me, i'd go "lighter" both times because we're coming off of a 1-10 season and hasn't had a winning record since 2003. over the last 6 or 7 years, i doubt if any hbcu in the country has a worst record in football than us. so if we choose to pad our record a little next season, you'll get no complaints from me. maybe we can toughen up the 2012 schedule if we have a decent season. but right now, we need wins. we need to get rid of the loser's mentality that has set in over the last 6 years. our team is not ready yet to take on major challenges in competition. hopefully two years down the road we will be...
