I heard something that i wanted to share with this thread that I feel will be quite appropriate... YOU CANT EXPECT US TO GROW IF YOUR EXPECTATIONS OF THE PROGRAM EXCEED YOUR INVESTMENT IN THE PROGRAM.. Just think on that. I heard that earlier this week and thought it quite appropriate for A&T and our current financial state. Considering I haven't seen us win a game since Nov. 2003 I would say that my investment has easily outpaced my expectations.

I think with the right set of breaks we could eke out a winning season. I would feel better if we're able to attract one/some impact transfer(s) this summer.

I expect us to win against Winston, Parie View, Central, and Norfolk. I also expect us to be competitive against the rest of the MEAC. That's the spirit aggie9195; that's AGGIE PRIDE! I, too, am hoping (and praying) for at least a .500 season.

I can tell by these postings a lot of you guys play the lottery.
I have looked at every opponent and Howard U is the only unknown and possibly the least "together" opponent on A&T's schedule. Howard is the only opponent where I think an odddsmaker would give A&T more than a 50 percent chance of winning because Howard's football coach is new and has similar D-1A coaching experience as Coach Fobbs and has no HBCU experience.
In HBCU football, a head coach not having HBCU experience or lower level division football experience is a negative because there is a big learning curve in knowing how to do a lot without much support.

I think we can be competitive in most games and sneak 2 or 3 wins, on the flip side, we could be competitive and still go winless.

We play in one of the worst conferences in college football so there is no reason we should go winless again. A couple of years ago Edward Waters College virtually restarted their team from scratch in a few months begore the season began and managed to win 3 games. They also came close to winning at least two other games. All with far less resources than we have.

You're forgetting the coaching situation and the competition. If Massie was our coach I'd pick a few more victories. If we were playing against the teams EW beat I'd pick a few more.
Say what you will about "program-destroying" predecessors and inexperienced players but the two main culprits for our sorry season were poor line play and inexperienced and overburdened coaches. We haven't tamed either one as of yet.
I think it's only fair to ask for and expect improvement. Like I said in another thread vast improvement would be an 0-11 record where teams actually had to sweat past the first quarter. Folks are being unrealistic or just plain forgot what we put on the field last year. We were not in a game after the 10 minute mark of the second quarter. I can't think of one team that didn't empty their bench against us. Vast improvement would be not being in the bottom 10 of almost every measurable offensive and defensive statistic possible.
Nothing has happened that's going to turn that around in one mere season. Men's tennis' budget wasn't that big ladies and gentlemen. We're building a house here, not a hurricane relief trailer. It will take another year before we even get the foundation going.
While I hope for 15-0 like I do every year, the commonest of sense tells me it's gonna be another long season.

The chilling realism is that you may very well be correct... however, with all my AGGIE soul, I pray that you're wrong.

Hell, so do I! I've been praying I'd be wrong for three years now and I'll continue.
In any event, when you're at the bottom (which is where you are) any improvement is a good thing. The fact that there's been stability speaks volumes about Fobbs' character. I hope it translates to the field and I hope we're patient with him.

I don't think that you could be a true Aggie and wish that our football team, or any other team for that matter, performs terribly. However, since HU & SCSU were the only games where we were within 4 TD's (losing 26-0 & 41-19, respectively), I don't see us winning many more than 1 game this year. Even with incoming transfers and freshman, they still need time to learn how to play together and that usually takes more than the spring and summer can offer.

i expect the AD to bring back mens tennis...
i expect money to be put back into the programs that have a legitimate chance at national success...
as far as football... my sentiments are the same as dooms.... i don't see much to cheer about...
