Man, you lying. I know our part-time kicking coach did not make $57,000 a year.
That has to be a misprint.

What is a good salary for assistants at the subdivision level and hbcus? HERE was/is our staff Berry(a$$ head)- $75K Maurice Johnson(co DC) - 65K Michael Morand(co OC) - 60K Travis Oliver(Defensive Back/Recruiting Coordinator)- $37, 100 Shawn Thomas(specialist coach) - 57K Tayrone Odums(co DC) - 63K Ragsdale - 55K Dexter Stroman(TE Video) - ? Marshal Glenn(QBs) - 25K Considerably lower at every position from youngstown. These numbers are not accurate wherever they came from.

They come from the database that shows salaries for all NC State Employees. That thing is pretty accurate. That's public info. You just have to know where to look it up. BUT Shawn Thomas is wrong. It was SEAN not SHAWN who made that salary. So I will modify that. What it might not show is if they are splitting duties. For example teaching and coaching. But they are very accurate and close. My fault on Shawn's though. I have no idea what he makes just for kicks - Wheeler Brown $95,001 Check it out for yourself apps.newsobserver.com/know/uncga/index.php

Did you know that A&T is using general bonds to build the $4 million press box and the principle and interest will be paid by A&T through sales of premium seats, ticket sales, grants and donations.....and the BOT Resolution for this was signed on or about November 19, 2010?........ So much for having the project start already.
Did you know that besides an AD and head football coach to hire, Dr. Martin has to hire about 6 Deans and vice-chancellors?
One good thing, the Student Union will be renovated and expanded with a $5.4 million grant.
There could be more NCAA violations and penalties coming A&T's way later this year.
Dr. Martin and his inner circle have their hands full with a lot of holes in the dike. In my opinion sports should have been Martin's least worry for this school year.

I really don't see the scholarship number rising above 48 or 50, I guess, next school year but the cost of doing business in the athletic department should increase anyway due to hiring more athletic trainers that are needed.
There should be a heavy dose of training for athletic department staff and coaches on NCAA regulations.

D-2 is always a cost-efficient option. I'm just saying...
But since nobody's going to go for it, we'll probably have to undergo some pretty drastic changes and some further heavy losses until we can clean things up. At least we'll eventually have a pretty new press box.

I realize that hindsight is 20/20, but if youre gonna make decisions to appease a disgruntled alumni fan base, at least have a plan.
Martin would have been better served going on this world tour talking about the importance of raising our APR, graduation rate, and overrall NCAA standing, hence why he had to keep Lee for an additional year. Instead he's got to go around and fumble and bumble on the reasons he "wanted to go in a different direction". Whatever that means.
Not many reputable coaches are gonna wanna stick their foot in this situation. Not by a longshot. If they did, they would already be in place to oversee their 2011 team, who is currently in the midst of offseason/mat drills.

I don't know when A&T will have more than 40 scholarships but it doesn't look like it will be next year. I think A&T will still be under NCAA restrictions next season, 2011-2012. The Press Box is a long term capital investment and maybe this was the best time to get a go-ahead for NC bonds but I am wondering if this will put a huge financial strain on the athletic department in an economic recession that will be felt by A&T's fans, also. Maybe more effort should have been spent to get money to have academically stronger athletes and establish a real training table so that all of the weight training will be maximized. "Build it and they will come" doesn't work for losers. How many suites have been sold? Maybe one A&T has to find more money to give towards the academic support for its football program or risk losing its Div I status. The football program's APR is dangerously bobbling around the APR mandated minimum for this past school year, right now. I am leaning, a lil bit, to the idea that Coach Broadway was a good investment for a football program that cannot give out scholarships beyond the Div II limit for at least another year. If Broadway wasn't an experienced winner as a head coach, we would be looking at a Prairie View of old that had 88 straight loses. In my opinion Coach Broadway will be working the next two years trying to stabilize his football program before he can even think about going forward to compete against the top MEAC teams. Broadway will have his hands full just to stay out of the bottom 3 places.
