I agree oleschoolaggie what would be a couple of ways to raise funds, that is fun and exciting and would pull in the community?

Nothing can save this game now! It will be a record low attendance for Aggie Stadium.

why couldn't our athletic department come up with an idea like this? we're always whining about the lack of funds we have, yet no one in the athletic department comes up with innovative ideas to raise funds. i certainly hope whoever our next athletic director is will bring with them an aggressiveness for raising funds. don't just keep your hand out begging for donations if you're not willing to take initiatives to help yourselves... We (Athletics at FAMU) initiated a Battle of the Bands for the high school bands that were participating in the homecoming parade. It was held on the Friday afternoon before homecoming in the football stadium. The Music Department didn't think that it would be a "big deal," but decided that the marching band ("The Marching 100") would also perform for a small cut of the gate. We charged $5 a head, and had 4,500 paid in 2006 and a little over 5,000 in 2007. We had very little overhead costs, because the event was held during daylight hours, and Athletics cleared over $18,000 each year. The School of Music (Division of Bands) wanted to take over the event in 2008 and no agreement could be reached with Athletics, so the President's Office "tabled" the event. It's still on HOLD, I think.

Then nothing can save the SCSU game. It will be a record low for aggie stadium . The Bulldogs cant even win the MEAC if BCU wins out, so they wont even have a reason to show up.

SCSU will bring their folk from down there out the woods. Now, our students will be packing up for Thanksgiving the following week. And the team will be going through the motions again.

I talked to a band insider on Monday and they said that FAMU's marching band is indeed coming to Aggie Stadium this weekend. I checked again today to see if they had a change in plans, and they still say that they are not coming to Greensboro. Maybe your source is better than mine is.

Nah. I think your source was right all along.
You can't trust band geeks. They don't know what's going on half the time.
