I don't know what we have planned (marketing-wise) for that game, but it's been confirmed from the Tallahassee end that their marching band will be coming to Greensboro for the game.
It's been a while since they have been here.

I hope that brings a couple of thousand additional fans to Aggie Stadium. We need the revenue. (Aggie Athletics: You've got to get the word out for that to happen. )

I would promote an in the stadium band brawl. Let everyone know that the 5th quarter is going to be long.

I would promote an in the stadium band brawl. Let everyone know that the 5th quarter is going to be long. Great idea. On occassion, South Carolina State has been doing a "Battle of the Bands" on Friday night in S-H-M with the visiting band (when they are available), and they split that money 50/50 between the School of Music and Bulldogs Athletics. I tried to make that happen at FAMU, but the band really believed that they are much more important than Athletics and wanted 80%...so it never took place. Could Aggie Athletics and the band work that out?? Could that work in Corbett...or is it too small?? (FAMU's band has 400 pieces; not worth the money to rent an off-campus site.)

It would be interesting to see if FAMU is coming Friday night or Saturday morning. The game is a mid-day game and trying to add an event for that night before could cost more than it costs to come and stay.
I dig the concept though. We lose millions foregoing great ideas.

Also 3200 students have already been comfirmed for University Day which starts 8am the morning of the game, therefore we could turn this into a huge event

Well, that's good! I thought that they might have already had University Day.

Do we extend university day invitations farther than the just the Triad Area? I hear nothing of it here in Raleigh/Durham. With that being said, I dont here of NCCU's or anyone else's University Day. Might just be because I dont have a kid in high school? I never heard about it when I was in G-boro either for that matter.

The four MEAC schools that I know have a University Day are NCA&T, SC State, FAMU and Norfolk State. I don't know how extensive A&T's is or how far out it extends. They do a great job, though. I oversaw the one at FAMU for awhile (on the Athletics end only), and we reached out to every elementary school, middle school and high school within a 40-mile radius. However, we did send special invitations to schools as far away as Miami (500 miles away) and Atlanta (250 miles away). Campus tours and recruitment stations were available for participating high school students only.

If everyone follows the same blue print then Durham and Raleigh are just out of reach. Thanks for the info.

I can remember getting invites back in 2004 and my Highschool is in deep Eastern, NC. Over the past few years the University has tried going in different directions with University Day. Under the guidance of Underdue-Muprh, in 2008 University day was more academicly driven, instead of step shows, fun and games, students spent the day in classes. The turnout was horrible and since then they have tried to provide a good mix of academics and entertainment. This is the biggest recuitment tool we have other than Homecoming.

Well, that 40-mile radius is a lot more dense around The Triangle than the same radius is around Tallahassee, which is only 17 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico.

Let everyone know that the 5th quarter is going to be long. i think overall, the machine has had a pretty good year so far. far better than last year. but i don't know if we want to pick a brawl against the 100. they're so loud, they make almost any band sound like a "transistor radio"...

NCCU's Open House was last week. Schools used to give tickets away. Now they charge a reduced rate. A&T $10 NCCU $6. Livingstone is this weekend ... tickets are free.
