Just left today's press conference and Lee announced that the team's APR score should be about 917 this year which will allow us to increase our scholarship level. He said we are currently at 44.5 scholarships and we should be able to get that number up to 57 or 60.
Lee also said he was very excited about the play of George Hines against Del State. Hines will likely be cleared to play against Howard and is now pegged as A&T's main QB the remainder of the season. Don't expect to see much of Lewis and Webb this weekend.
Lee credited Hines with making a lot of good throws and for being a hard worker. He said they did not have to scale down the playbook for him like they had for Webb and Lewis.
Hines was at the press conference and he was dressed like a distinguished gentleman. Appears to be a very classy and intelligent young man. Too bad his eligibility runs out in four weeks and we'll be back to square one.

BTW: I also asked Lee about the firing of Wheeler last week and he said that he can't let that be a distraction for him or his staff.
He said his heart goes out to Wheeler, who took a chance on him and brought him back to A&T, and now he is going to just work hard to prove to everyone that Wheeler made the right decision.
He will present his plan and vision to the new athletic director, whoever that may be, and he hopes that everything will work itself out.

Hines better have one of those newly designed Helmets this weekend.
And hopefully, many of those players that Lee Recruited this past year that aren't able to play due to grades will be added to the team in the Spring.

It is Monday, the team returned to campus on Saturday night. So what doctor, neurologist, will give a kid a go-ahead from a concussion this quick? Correction, when did Coach Lee become a nuerologist?

Yeah I think we all forget that the whole program is really in the tank not just while the clock is running. I think this is a step in the right direction and I commend the coaches that really did the work to help improve the players APR.

I agree how did he get cleared so quickly? I've had two kids out with concussions this year and it took them over a week to get the OK. And when did Coach Lee become a nuerologist?

Isn't there a physical and mental testing process used to clear a player to play?

Isn't there a physical and mental testing process used to clear a player to play? The NCHSAA Concussion Return to Play Form can be found at www.cdc.gov/injury it gives information on care after a concussion. I would think that the NCAA has some kind of guidelines and forms.
