Didn't I say they were incapable of winning 3 in a row. Shame.
79-74 Winston

I saw the game and I have to say....meltdown! I'm not sure that it's coaching though...they play with no fire. When WSSU started coming back, Eaves called two timeouts to try to stop the bleeding but the team never responded. WSSU caught fire and the rest is history.

ohsixrain; Are you serious - "I'm not sure that it's coaching though..." If a team plays with no fire; IT IS COACHING.

Believe it or not, I dont feel as badly about this loss. A Coppin loss will hurt more to me. For some reason I have the feeling that we just got beaten by better offense rather than our turnovers ect. We got cold & Winston was hitting Beyond NBA '3's. I did not see where we had an advantage...on the inside...or with the guards. Eaves played Powell Whitter & Upchurch ( freshmen) & Simpson & Hill (Sophs). I think that he wanted to check those guys out and rest the Seniors for the weekend & tournament. He had a lead and lost it. I felt that He could have let Joshua stay in and light them up. To me He was on his way to a big night. I really dont have the impression that we were taking bad shots tonight, even though we shot 25% on 3's. WSSU shot 60% on 3's. We had 11 turnovers & 12 steals. This game did not frustrate me like the last Winston Game.

One more thing. IDK if this is coaching or not, but Winston has this trap that they spring on you after you cross halfcourt and make your first pass. Now we did ok with it, but it took us out of our flow. We moved that ball around but missed the shot, and the few times we went inside, they doubled our bigs. To me the team knew what to do ( as opposed to turning the ball over), but they did not make the plays. "Getting us back into the flow" or a new flow, may be coaching. But I know that they were coached to handle that trap.

PJ, You sound very knowledgable about aggie basketball; I have one question for you. Are you on Eaves payroll??

Look at the bright side. It's a non-conference game.

Look at the dark side. We just got swept by Winston-Salem State.

Look at the dark side. We just got swept by Winston-Salem State. And what does that mean? Does it affect our standings in the MEAC, no? Its not like we are on the NCAA bubble so no, it doesn't hurt there either. Its just a Pride thing, it will be ok. We all know Eaves isn't the best coach but tonight has no bearing on our future

I happen to believe in a thing like momentum...it looks like we had it in the first have, in which WSSU couldn't do anything. Then the momentum switched...and they caught fire. The Fisher fella couldn't miss could he? Now, I will say that it looked like we couldn't stop their guards from penetrating thus, breaking the defense down while playing man to man. Perhaps a zone wouldn't have slowed that down but, the Fisher fella was on fire from the 3 so, I'm not so sure a zone would've worked either.

True, lol I'm not on the payroll, and I'm just a fan. Thrilla drew me in and I realized that we were all documenting games for history. The Brothers on this board have more knowledge and they remember, and to the history of Aggie BB. ======== The morning after..... Porter is playing better. Our big men still needs more touches Upchurch battles nicely ========= We can make noise in the tourny. I dont know if we will. Morgan beat UMES 65-61 and the game was tied with 1:27 left. UMES beat us and lost to NCCU on a short week. We are close to these teams I believe. We beat DSU, SCSU, NSU, the 2nd, 3rd & 4th placed teams respectively. ========= IDK how we will do this weekend. Does MSU rest some people against us on TV, in prep for the MEAC? Will we play freshmen against CSU?

The Brothers on this board have more knowledge and they remember the games, and add to the history of Aggie BB.
=========== OhSix, I agree about the momentum within the game. It just changed. I wanted this win for momentun in prep for the Coppin game. ============= On another note, The MEAC Admin missed that boat on this game. They should have blitzed the game with givaways. Time Warner did. The MEAC should have had a 'star' do something at the half in promoting the Tourny. I did not even see an ad on the jumbotron. Or even the City of Winston could have co-signed on some stuff. It was a bad look. This was a big game.

Oldeschool, where are you? As much hell as you gave me, I sure would love to hear what you have to say. You remember how you used to say Bobby couldn't hold Eaves' jock? You called me insanely negative. I thought I was being fairly rational.
Now, let's get one of those 5 paragraph narratives on how you feel about the situation. lol Just messing with you man. You were so wrong that I had to bring it up.

Its funny how people flip flop from "well, a win is a win. Very good win team".........to this "Well, Winston doesn't really count. they aint in the MEAC".
"The Incapables" is my new name for Eave's teams until he proves me wrong.
