You'd have to ask Bibbs that question. This thread is about Eaves.
Right now Eaves a a roughly .500 meac coach with the budget and support of a last-place meac coach. Are we better off jettisoning him in favor of somebody else that may or may not (hell, probably not) do better with our constraints, or finding a way to get him what he needs to be a better coach.
He ain't stupid, he's got an NCAA championship ring. How's that for an oxymoron? A guy with an NCAA championship ring is coaching at the school with the worst NCAA tournament record in history. You can't make this stuff up.
Personally, I couldn't care less. I haven't been an avid follower of A&T bball since we ran Corbett off thinking we could do better (sound familiar?). But I do believe in using some form of common sense over any form of emotional response. It's almost comical to see how the threads go from "FIRE EAVES" to "gee, the guys did good last night" depending on the outcome of each game. That just ain't how you run a business folks.

I keep reading how Eaves has the lowest budget in the MEAC but everytime I see documented figures he seems to be no worse than middle of the pack. Regardless if he has the highest budget or lowest budget I think you're pretty much going to get the same result.

It's almost comical to see how the threads go from "FIRE EAVES" to "gee, the guys did good last night" depending on the outcome of each game. That just ain't how you run a business folks. dooms, i can't speak for everybody else, but i've been a strong supporter of eaves over the years and i'm still pulling for the guy. i really didn't have a major problem with his coaching until he resorted to an "unorthodoxed" offensive philosophy that no other coach in america (that i know of) follows. and that's the "relentless" shooting of 3's despite whether we're making a reasonable percentage of them or not. that's when he loss me and that's the only reason he loss me. folks are upset because that's the primary reason why we've loss so many games this season that we've had no business losing. man, i began wondering if the man had loss his senses! i've now seen every single men's team in the meac this season and there's no question in my mind that our men have no business being essentially 2 games out of last place! we should have never loss games to famu, bcu, howard (twice), wssu, or hampton. but this barrage of 3 point shooting has been killing us! and it seems that the only person on the planet who doesn't realize that is eaves. i was completely "dumbfounded" to find out the other night that thomas coleman leads the meac in overall shooting percentage from the floor (59%)! yet we've been heaving up seemingly 40 threes per game! and that's where my frustration lies. imo, the worst stat all season is when thomas coleman went 0-1 from the field and scored "zero" points despite playing 28 minutes in an embarrassing home loss to umes on national tv! i could see if we were knocking down 40% or more of our 3's, but we're not even close to that. if we're gonna heave up 30 plus 3's per game and make only about 20% of them (if that), then it makes game planning against us extremely easy for opposing coaches. on the rare occasion when our guys play well (csu, dsu, hampton), its generally because we shot a lot less 3's and attacked the basket instead. i don't think folks are hating on eaves one night and loving him the next. i just think folks are calling it the way they see it. "at best" our men are inconsistent. and like most fans, when they win, we're generally pleased. but when they lose games they have no business losing, folks aren't pleased and its compounded by all of those "missed" threes. i mean, how many folks on this site has stated that they are in favor of jacking up all of these 3's every game? i personally don't recall any and if true, that would be a first on this site...
