After 6 years we can expect progress and not subpar performances.

I cant blame a lot of the stuff I see on coaching. Missed free throws, not hussling for lose balls, etc. I am sure is not telling them to MISS your layups and free throws and to make bad passes and play soft in the paint.
I wish he had some higher quality assistants to help him.

Who are you going to replace him with? Coaching can only help but so much. We need talent. And since we don't have the budget of even a low-end mid-major, let's let Coach Eaves coach, and the rest of us shut the hell up!! You can't expect the man to make lemonade out of a s*** sandwich. I don't think we are going to shut the hell up...Stop crying about a budget, that goes out the window when you lose to a Winston b/c I know their budget is not larger than ours

Do coaches usually continue serving after seven seasons of not having a winning season at most schools? If so, Fobbs and Smalls should still be in their positions. I believe that Eaves will continue in his present position for years, so we should accept that and move on with hopes of him leading us to "the promise land" one of these years.

Sometimes the better team does loose. We lost to Winston. Overall we are a better team than Winston, but Wisnton played better on that day.

Perhaps a super top assistant with excellent credentials is in the works. Let's hope so.

YUP!!! We were in most of those games until the end, even w/o one of best players Rob J. He played in the Winston game though. Us being in most of those games would make sense considering his untimely substitutions. For example, substituting Porter for Coleman, after the deficit is shorten to something managable, only to have the opposing teams lead doubled..AGAIN!! Or taking a guy out who has the hot hand, you have to know how hard that is to come by with this team.

Who had the hot hand? If this did happen, was the Porter substitution attentionaly done to widen to score deficit? Does a Porter substitution always widen the score deficit? Did Colemen return to game?

If we find such a person as a "super top assistant" perhaps it would make more sense to hire him as head coach? I agree about such an assistant. However, my statement was meant as "tongue-in-cheek". A&T has a problem that can't be solved. They have a coach that can't get the job done and they don't seem to have the inclination or ability to replace him. So, we will have to live with him as the coach and hope that one day he will turn the program around.

I really hate that the team is losing, but I was under the impression that this year was a rebuilding year. Even though I don't think last year's team was great, I do think this year's team does not have as much talent and plays more freshmen and sophmores. I have not seen all the teams in the MEAC, but where do we stand talent wise ? Having to play the freshmen and sophmores may play off down the road.
Speaking of freshmen, what happened to D. Upchruch ? I have not seen his name in the box score in weeks. He was getting a lot of playing time early in the season.

'83, Rebuilding seems to be an ongoing process (never ending) at A&T. That's what folks said when Eaves lost 7 seniors two years ago, and when he lost 2 seniors last year and he will lose 4 seniors this year. So next year, as with every year, another time to rebuild. People were on this board talking about (as they do every year) the great group of recruits Eaves had coming in this year and what great contributors they would be to the program. So far, Witter seems to be his best recruit. There are recruits who have been riding the bench for several years, and they came in with glowing comments about their skills. Folks are back again now, talking about a new outstanding class of recruits for next season. So we will say next season is another rebuilding year. Rebuilding seems to be a continuum at A&T. And it appears that we don't mind that, and have settled for mediocrity.
