With our RB group, some form of a stacked backfield might be coming. I doubt a full wing-t or triple option, but our staff might be planning to implement a few more run plays/formations into the mix.
Wing-T or Triple option is fine when you are winning, but lose with it and its your job. People dont want to be bored and losing, lol.

most teams today do run a updated version of the triple option. thats what the spread is. the spread just incorporates a better pssing game than an actual true trip optionoffense does. When teams run the zone read, thats the option. the qb is reading the end whether to give it to the back or pull the ball. same principle as the triple option. in the triple option, the qb reads the end to know whether to leave it with the dive back or pull it and continue with the ball. In the spread, the can use a wr as the pitch man. qb's read the flat or force defender to know whether to pitch or keep the ball. same concept as the triple option. actually its the very same read. So, in actuality, we do run a version of the triple option, just not a ton of it.

One giant step for Ricky Lewis, one small step towards triple option.

The triple option might be our best option to get optimum use out of the personal we currently have on the team.

we cant change our offense right now. We are to deep in the season. We cant even teach a backup(who is suppose to already be close to being a game ready) how to be a starter in the offense we got over 6 games. Yall think this staff can teach a new offense and blocking schemes with 4 games left? not likely!

It would not be that hard to put a few option plays in the offence. I realize it is too late to go totaly option, especially trying to teach the OL new blocking schemes but a few option plays in certain situations should not be that hard to incoperate.

You just said the word "Should" while referring to A&T football, LOL.

Personally, I want to see A&T run a Pro-Style Offense with Kindle at QB and with Rickey Lewis & Raper with specific option-type packages for them.
The problem we are facing, I think is that Coach Lee failed to recruit QB's, that could stay eligible, that can come into camp and push Kindle and run the offense in the event that Kindle got hurt.
The Offense, I imagine was supposed to look like the offense the Vikings ran in 2009 and Rickey Lewis and Larry Raper were supposed to be our version of Percy Harvin and Wallace Miles and The Future our outside threats with the TE's filling the role of V. Shancoe.
We should not pull a Howard!!! I repeat, we should not pull a Howard and switch to the triple option!!!

If you have a hard time recruiting good QB's that can run a pro style offence then most college teams should consider running an option style offence. It is a lot easier to recruit good RB's than it is to recruit a really good QB, especially at an HBCU.

true that. But I guess the prop kid Clower is a pro-style QB like Kindle

What the heck do you think App State was running when they won their 2nd and 3rd national championship? A version of the Wyatt-bone with Edwards at QB. It doesn't have to be a carbon copy of the triple option but it can be something close to it. When I saw Kindle play last year, John Elway or Marino didn't come to mind.

I agree that it is much easier to find good RB's than QB's. Also, with this offense you can put someone that fits the athlete mold, Ricky Lewis, into the QB spot.
