I'm amazed with the Bibbs lovefest but I understand it?
She definitely has a voice up here so I just wanted to see what some of you thought.
What counts as success at this point? They've lost 1 game in the last 2 years so the bar is pretty high. There are several that obviously think that the subtraction of some of the parts won't hurt much simply because of Bibbs, but I know all of you don't think that.
What is success and what is failure for this team this year?

That's a very tough question but I am sure the goal would be to build on the out of conference wins. The recruting class has gone from a few gems each year to very solid recruits with options to play at more than just hbcu's and mid majors. Not getting back to the Big Dance would be a disappoinment.
Coach Bibbs is as good as it gets for a Coach. Not saying she is perfect because nobody is. I want even address your sarcasim regarding Coach Bibbs. Sometimes you confirm for me that you really are delusional.

success for this team is clearly winning an meac regular season and tournament championship. the bar has been raised by bibbs. anything less than winning "both" meac championships is a disappointment in my opinion. we're the meac's "preseason #1" pick, even the conference has similar expectations. i don't feel that this team has to be as good or better than last year's team as long as they win the meac. we've got to remember that last year's team earned a 14th seed in the NCAA's. that's a pretty significant accomplishment and it wouldn't be fair to hold each team to that standard. at least not yet! but at the rate bibbs is recruiting, it could very well become an expectation for every lady aggie team in the near future...

Why not? Each year the team should get better. Last year the ladies were 7-5 going into conference play. This year there are at least 13 games prior to the FAMU game in January. My yardstick of improvement would be to go 9-4 in that stretch. The losses would be one in WNIT, Auburn, LSU, and Iowa State. I think we can beat everybody else. If we happen to pull off Auburn at home, that would be 10-3. There will be two or three tough games in the MEAC regular season. Which ones? Who knows? Pre-NCAA tournament record: 28-5

They have some big shoes to fill in the departure of AB and BTJ, but I think we have real solid squad to repeat the success from last year. It would LOVE to go undefeated in conference, but that is going to be real tough to do.
I would consider this season a success if we win the conference and tournament. If we dont, it would depend on why we didnt. We dont know yet what adversities this team will face this season, injuries, etc.
Cant wait for the season to start!

We could have as many as 7 non conference losses. I think we'll end up somewhere around 18-9 for the regular season.

I think the team's goals are to repeat as conference champions and make some noise in the NCAA tournament. I know it's a lot of pressure, but anything less than that would be a disappointment. This team may take some time to gel early on, after losing AB and BTJ, but I think they are focused on the big picture now and that is to make a run in March.
The returning girls have a taste of what the Big Dance is like. Now they want to show everyone that they can be more than one and done.

Pre-NCAA tournament record: 28-5 i just think to completely compensate for ab and btj is asking a little too much this year. i still expect our ladies to win the regular season and tournament championships. and i'm not ruling out that they could possibly perform well enough to earn another 14th seed. but ab and btj were our two leading scorers and having not seen crystal murdaugh play yet, i just don't know if there's two ladies on this year's team that can replace ab and btj's production. i'm sure tweet can compensate for the lost of one of them. and if i knew that murdaugh could, and/or if sams would have a breakout season to produce ab/btj type numbers, then i'd be prone to expect the same level of success this year as last year's team. i'm not saying this year's team won't be able to achieve the same level of success as last year's team. i'm just saying we shouldn't hold them to the same standard. i kinda see our ladies the same as i see unc's men this year. unc won't have the same level of fire power as they had last year, losing psycho t, green, ellington, and lawson to the nba. but with their new recruits and the returning players, they're still capable of winning another national championship, but i don't think they'll be as good as last year's team. the sign of a dynasty is not necessarily that every year the team is better than the year before. uconn and tennessee aren't always better than their previous team every year. they're just better than everybody else almost every year. that's how i see our ladies. but i think next year's team may be bibbs' best since she's been at a&t. my expectations will rise for next year's team...

Why Oldeschool? We haven't even seen the new girls play. Why will your expectations rise?
Just wondering what/how you're thinking.

why? because we lose 5 seniors this year but only 2 are major contributors and that would be tweet and smalley. bullock is a senior this year too but so far she hasn't been a major contributor and there's several underclassmen who can replace her production next year. the other two seniors are alford and waddell, they both get limited minutes and can be replaced.
however, few if any hbcu's have a 6'4" center who is as productive as alex mitchell. in fact, few mid-majors period have centers of that caliber. mitchell will be a game changer who will have plenty of talent around her and she will enable us to go toe to toe with almost any major d1 team. we'll still have sams, murdaugh, coulter, thomas, and deblanc. and by next year, calvin should be ready to step right into tweet's shoes. most of our backups could start on any other meac team. overall, it'll be the biggest and most talented team we've ever had, imo...

I know our new **** 4 star transfer Alex Mitchell has to sit out this season but she will still contribute this year. Coulter, Deblanc, and Nikia Gorham will be by playing aginst Alex every day in practice. That alone in itself is gone raise their game. I'll bet you Murdaugh had an effect on BTJ and Amber last year ?

i just looked at our schedule and i can see our nonconference record being around 4-6 or 3-7 with losses probably to marist, new mexico, auburn, lsu, iowa state, and liberty. i'm looking for possible wins against yale/toledo, louisiana lafayette, univ. of missouri @ kansas city, and nccu. not counting wssu, but if so, that's 2 automatic wins.
i think we may lose no more than 2 conference games. so my prediction is close to decks'. with 18 conference games (counting wssu) i predict our overall record will be in the 20-8 or 19-9 range, give or take a victory or two...

This has now been the greatest season in A&T history. Guess that answers your question.
