;D Well January 6th and the announcement our new football coach selection is almost here. It's like the 'Night Before Christmas' when as kids we all went to bed with great expections. What will we get, Can't wait to show off our presents to our friends, etc.
Sometime tomorrow we will know who our new coach will be. Incidentally, do we have our Beat Reporters at the Greensboro airport to see if coach Lee or coach Frazier or some other famous coach gets of the plane today. Or is the new coach is already in town (Ragsdale)? Prehaps the new coach is coming into town by train or if he's nearby (Asberry or Phillips) prehaps he's driving into town. Such excitement and anticipation!!!
Well, the anticipation will all be over tomorrow and we can start our comments about recruiting, the new coordinators and position coaches as well as the 2009 season. Isn't Aggie Football Exciting?

Aggieborn5, are you getting your vocal cords ready? I am hearing that you are gonna be named assistant gospel choir director once Lee comes back.

Charlotte Post
Who’s hiring coaches anyway? Published Wednesday, December 31, 2008 2:00 am by Herbert L. White
The only thing we know for sure about Johnson C. Smith’s search for a new football coach is the finalists and the length of the process. I’m OK with the former, especially since President Ron Carter says he wants to go in a new direction, which one is to assume a winning path.
How his school is going about it is ridiculous, unless the Golden Bulls have their eye on someone in the NFL.
Daryl McNeill was shown the door on Nov. 6, five days after the Golden Bulls’ season ended with another 3-7 record. It’s Dec. 31, nearly two months down the road, and still no replacement. Why it’s taken so long has been debated on Internet message boards, the streets of Charlotte and my e-mail box. But JCSU isn’t alone. N.C. A&T is in the same boat.
The speculation is as varied as the number of pimples on a football, but all that pales compared to who ultimately gets to make the call. Most black colleges convene a search committee to go over the resumes of potential candidates and narrow the field to a finalist or two. Then the president or chancellor makes the decision. That’s nuts.
Athletic folks are in better position to make that call, and should be held accountable for making it happen. The HBCU model is quaint, as if they’ll move heaven and earth to hold onto some semblance of pure amateurism, which describes the exercise itself. The reality, however, is that athletics – even at small colleges – is a business. And every successful business requires the proper parts to build the brand and, ultimately, the bottom line.
JCSU has good administrators and facilities, but needs to have a buck-stops-here mentality when it comes to hiring. Steve Joyner, the men’s basketball coach, doubles as AD. Why not let him make the decision and be prepared to live with it?
If Joyner hits a homer, he’s a hero and should be praised. If he misses, well, he’s still a pretty good basketball coach.
I understand taking the time to get the best person possible, but it’s New Year’s Eve. It shouldn’t take two months to identify an answer.

The decision has been made it is Lee....what a joke ,once again A & T has chosen the wrong guy. This guy is more worried about getting the choir together than a football team. Leaving the choice up to one person is always a mistake.....usually that one person is on such a power/ego trip that all judgment is clouded. Sorry Aggie fans......this one isn't going to work either.

Yes, that's why I agree with you when you say that he will be the wrong guy only because he "is more worried about getting the choir together than a football team."
Let's go off to the woods and cut some live chickens and drink the blood together while he tries to instill some character in people.
If that doesn't interest you, is the problem that he made you tenor when you were clearly alto? Because as of yet you haven't really stated any support over your opinion that A&T has chosen the wrong guy.
