Man, that shot tells a story. And "The Future" would have caught it!

N.C. A&T's upset bid falls short Sunday, November 2 (updated 7:25 am) By Jerry Schaeffer Staff Writer
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The screenplay was cleverly written and carefully rehearsed. But, somehow, things did not go according to script.
A second straight win that N.C. A&T had worked so diligently to accomplish did not happen Saturday. Determined Bethune-Cookman got in the way of those plans, knocking off the Aggies by a 24-14 count in a MEAC game at Municipal Stadium.
"After the win last week (21-20 over Howard), we wanted to see if we could make a more emphatic statement against one of the MEAC's solid programs," said second-game interim head coach George Ragsdale.
"We figured all week if we could play well, with no major mistakes, that we would have a chance. We wanted to be ahead going into the fourth quarter. We knew Bethune was a fourth-quarter team -- that they had won most of their games in the fourth quarter. So we thought we could have a shot at them if we could be ahead at the end of three.
"It didn't work out that way, but we still fought hard all the way to the end, and I'm really proud of this team. We had a good work week, and we played pretty well. Bethune just played a little better."
The Aggies, who were limited to 163 yards of offense (103 rushing and 60 passing), had offensive possession during only 24 of the game's 60 minutes. Nevertheless, they were within striking distance until Bethune-Cookman forged a two-score advantage midway through the fourth quarter.
"We were only down three points (17-14) early in the fourth quarter and had some fire left in us," Ragsdale said. "We had some regulars out with some physical problems at that point and experienced a couple of letdowns in blocking assignments."
The Aggies weren't able to continue that drive because of back-to-back sacks of quarterback Herb Miller. So after a punt, the Wildcats drove 51 yards for the deflating touchdown with 8:35 left.
"It was good after the game to see these players in the locker room hurting because they lost," said Ragsdale, whose club fell to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in MEAC play. "That's the way it's supposed to be. A taste of winning makes losing that much harder to swallow."
A&T started the scoring with a first-quarter drive of 70 yards. On the ninth play, Nigel Tomlin crossed from the two-yard line. Eric Houston's extra point gave the Aggies a 7-0 edge. But the Wildcats scored twice in the second period to take a 10-7 advantage. Matt McCutcheon's 31-yard field goal, and a 37-yard touchdown pass from quarterback McKinson Souverain to Jeff Pope settled the first half.
"We wanted to stop Bethune early in the third quarter and then take the momentum by scoring immediately," Ragsdale said. "But we weren't able to stop them, and that hurt us."
Bethune Cookman (6-2, 3-2) scored on its first drive, with Souverain covering the last 27 yards on an option-keeper with 11:52 on the third-period clock. That made it, 17-7. But the Aggies got a break when A&T's Brandon Long scooped up a fumble at the Wildcats 12 and advanced it to the three. Three plays later, Miller hit Wallace Miles from two yards out. Houston's PAT made it again a three-point game, 17-14.
It was to-and-fro for awhile until those two sacks stopped what appeared to be a promising Aggie drive. Then Bethune-Cookman put together a clinching march that was culminated by Souverain's second TD, this one from seven yards out with 8:35 left. Souverain finished with 120 yards.

That's been Miller trade mark his entire career scramble and run first.
We need a pocket QB who does not mine taken the hit in order to get the ball to the open receiver.

Penalties-Yards 4-63 7-63 Time of Possession 24:16 35:44 How did they have 4 penalties for 63 yards?? What penalties in college football are over 15 yards? And that time of possession thing is a killer, but i guess that's what you get when your OFFense puts out 163 yards.

Yeah thrilla....that was a 3rd down play I believe, and it would have gone for at least the 25 yards between them. He would have had only had 1 guy to beat. The guy had the angle on him, but he could have picked up at least another 5-10 yards after the catch.

Please tell me Miller is ten yards pass the line of scrimmage, and that Gould is just waving to the fans to get up and cheer, when the photo was taken.

Miller doesn't have the arm strength or accuracy to make that play. My old coach told me that three things can happen when you throw a pass, and two of them are bad. He never told the guy behind me with the stronger arm that.
What he meant was "three things can happen when you, DOOMS throws a pass..." Methinks he would tell Miller the same thing. In order to alleviate his penchant for throwing errant passes, Miller has probably been coached to take off and run if he isn't absolutely sure it's there. I can't tell who is closing in from Miller's left to cover Gould by the angle of that picture.
A two yard gain is better than a first and ten for the other team in most cases. This may or may not have been one of those cases. I can't tell from the narrow angle of the pic.

Miller is not a good D-1 college QB and never has been since coming to A&T. They should have left him at WR were Small put him.

Look at BC's corner. "The Future" is definitely covered from the over the top safety. The corner aint paying him NO mind!
Oh wait, They are on the left side of the field, so THAT IS the over the top safety! That would have had to been a tight rope sideline catch with a defender probably underneath..........No way Miller makes that throw.
