So what is the head coach doing to resolve the issues with his assistant coach? This honestly seems like a situation that could have be repaired with better communication. I understand the stated reasons for why 3 top players are now looking to transfer, but my spidey sense is telling me the real story is deeper than this. I am telling you that is the reason. I have heard this for a couple seasons now. We have players good enough now that Can excercise options. If he fires the assistant coach the players will stay. What is the HC doing about it, i have no idea.

Has the Athletic Director stepped in and tried to rectify this situation?
Where is the proverbial "adult in the room" during a time like this?
Hard to believe that our volleyball program is this out of control that we have key players leaving because of one rouge assistant.

I think there must be more to this than problems with the assistant coach. My sources have told me about some locker room bullying amongst the team. The 2 head coaches have been in the game for a long time and have an established track record in high level volleyball. I trust them to correct issues like this. We are losing some key players to graduation and the portal, but what is important is the team culture. We don't need the best players, we need the right players. Not gonna lie, I was excited to see what Kaili Doctor could do for the program. What we do to replace her and the others will be crucial.

We talking about players that haven't graduated transferring...particularly two that were for 2 years or less... Players also talk when they leave... So if this hasn't been resolved...one of the adults will should go...

If an assistant coach has been causing problems for "multiple seasons" as someone indicated, I am sorry but I can't see why this coach is still on staff especially if very talented players are leaving due to this. If true, there is more to this than what we know. Most if not all college assistant coaches have 1-year contracts. Even a 5th grader would know what to do based on these allegations against the assistant coach.

Two years for a situation like this to go on is along time. Especially when you have a Veteran Coaching Staff with proven records before coming to A&T. Also there should have been an inquiry of some type by Hilton addressing the situation with the head coach and his staff and also the players to get to the truth even if it just was a rumor, just to get ahead of this mess. Maybe more facts will come forward .
Also sometimes your best players/player are not your best players in the locker room dealing with teammates or behind closed doors..i.e Kim Mulkey LSU coach dealing with Angel Reese. As the facts come out we will know if it was the player/players or the assistant coaches. Also if you cannot find a good or great volleyball player in the state of Texas, California, Colorado and other states you're not looking for one. Reloading for volleyball is a lot easier than other sports.

Folks, someone close to the players has told us that the player transfer problem was created by the dislike for the assistant coaches. That's all we need to know! Period! Now it's the AD's move. If we have good players that are bailing out of the program because of personal problems with the staff, the AD needs to step in to figure out the exact problem.

Understand that, but are we to respond like that every time a player or players has an "issue" with a coach/assistant coach. If that's the case we'd have a turnstile in the coaches office. A better question may be to see what these specific gripes are and are they legit. Or are we talking about you disagreeing with what was said, albeit correct, but now you have "an issue" with the coach. My point being you can't remove coach every time a player says its the coach why I'm leaving.

One thing that I have found to be a universal truth: young people will never tell you 100 percent of what actually happened.
There are always some key details lost in translation when it comes to a situation like this.
That's why I said we need an adult in the room who can meet with the various parties, sift through all the facts and try to come up with a resolution.
This is not a time for laissez faire leadership. This is where the people on staff need to earn their paychecks.

People are quick to jump on the coaches when a good athlete decides to transfer out without knowing all the facts . Because this could have been a situation of the young ladies on making . I'm sure that the facts will come out . I not one that gets all caught up in athletes leaving programs for what ever reason. For me its a Next Man up approach and anything that is lost can be replaced and keep moving forward. We will see how this pans out.

You say "assistant coaches" and 2039 says "assistant coach". Which is it? You say "player transfer problem" and 2039 mentioned 2 players and a possible 3rd player transferring due to a coach. Again, which is it? I am nitpicking to try and build some consistency in the allegation for determining how large the problem or problems. In either case the solution in my opinion is still the same as some have mentioned. Good investigation into the truth of the matter to establish facts and a quick remedy to address it to prevent further harm to the players, coaches, or program. Communication may fix this but some uncertainty by me on all the information provided give me pause to firmly state this is a viable solution.

That’s both of our setters in the portal. We NEED to bring in a new setter asap and hope she can find a rhythm and sync with our offensive. I don’t know anything about problems with Asst coach, but I do know about some locker room issues and bullying amongst the team. These are young stars. Chiara Napoli as a 6ft lefty setter is a unicorn for that position. Kaili Doctor is a huge loss coming off ROY season, but Tyne Ross coming in next season can fill that void. Identical in size and ability (Tyne make have a faster swing) but we need a setter to move the ball.

We are also losing Sawtelle, she is not coming back for her last year. So we are down two all CAA outside hitters!

So has the volleyball program been decimated like football and men's basketball, or is this something that can been quickly rectified?
Should A&T fans add this to our list of worries?
