No according to Earl Hilton. We left the MEAC for the Big South primarily because of travel costs. Nobody from the university ever went on the record and said the MEAC was a poorly ran conference. Now I know u have sat in meetings over and over since 2015 and listen to Earl explain the bad of the MEAC. Again it's no need to kick em while their down on our way out. That's fans job. And we technically are still members. So ..... we play nice Good points. I also remember the barely poker face he had when the MEAC kept us out of the basketball tournament that last year as a full member.

So he was exaggerating/lying about the travel costs being the main reason we left the MEAC? Y’all are so hellbent on making excuses for people that you are basically accusing them of being dishonest.

Naw, that was just an additional/publicly stated reason.
Privately we know his daddy hated the MEAC. And he probably wasn't overly fond either.
Of course the main reason was to reach the promised land. And we's here now.

Yall accept passive aggressive leadership way more than I do. So you wanted Earl and Harold to publicly chastise Dennis Thomas and the other MEAC presidents on the way out the door? That would’ve been idiotic.

The 100 percenters are bullying again. my definition of "100 percenters" is totally different than yours. my definition of "100 percenters" are folk who agree with dr. martin "100 percent" of the time no matter what. no matter whether a&t is dead last in offense, no matter whether a&t has only won 1 game outta 9 games, no matter whether a&t is no longer recognized as the undisputed hbcu football kings, no matter whether a&t is no longer seen on "national tv", no matter whether a&t is no longer winning "any" conference championships outside of meac bowling (our only "nationally ranked" sports team), just no matter what! that's my definition of "100 percenters". kinda like trump supporters, "no matter what"...

Does #7 NCCU or #13 FAMU really have their eyes on the playoff prize? The don’t care about the playoffs, and their respective conferences have opted out and given up their automatic playoff birth. The celebration bowl is their goal…nothing wrong with that, but we have to be honest in saying their national rankings are meaningless because at the end of season their rankings become void.

Don't disagree one bit...my problem is with the lack of a financial benefit with FCS playoffs, compared to FBS playoffs. If they want host teams to pay for home games and if the games really aren't packing stadiums (ie. no excitement for the FCS playoffs).....it's hard for me to clamor for the playoffs when there really isn't anything to gain from participating within them. Put some money into it, financially rewarding teams for being in it and winning games from round to round..... Have the NCAA advertise it like FBS playoffs.... Have a selection committee rank teams every week until the playoffs go down.... Make the FCS playoffs matter. As currently constructed, they just don't resonate to the general sports fan.

And for a reminder A&T left the MEAC because (drumroll please) ITS A POORLY RAN CONFERENCE. Was under Thomas and now under Stills. No according to Earl Hilton. We left the MEAC for the Big South primarily because of travel costs. Nobody from the university ever went on the record and said the MEAC was a poorly ran conference. It was, actually, both and more time on campus for our athletes. Earl didn't want to say bad things about the MEAC in the public square. I know because I was in a mtg where he told some of the issues. He also didn't tell all of the good things. At least one being the ESPN+ package where we could see ALL of our football games, men's & women's basketball games and some number of Volleyball, Baseball and Softball contests.

Neither does any other sport that we compete in with the NCAA with maybe the exception of March Madness. My stance is if Celebration Bowl is better than playoffs then where is the HBCU March Madness , HBCU World Series , HBCU Softball tournament , etc. Why not since it's no money, because it's no money in those other sports either except for Mens Bball

The MEAC wasn't using ESPN+ in 2019, furthermore to this day the MEAC does not stream all sports. hubison.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule/2023zero matches are being streamed.

Yall accept passive aggressive leadership way more than I do. Have you voiced your concerns to the board of trustees concerning what type of Chancellor you want to see them find?
