They should make a 40 for 40 about how hard we fell off, has any CFB program gone from the top to the basement as fast as we did in that stretch between our last CB bowl and now? Has any program fallen off this hard while seeing their arch-rival fill the void they left at the top of the mountain? Maybe SC State? Edit: I wouldn’t consider us SC State’s main rival but it was the closest example I could think of. CTA stop before you get started because you have no idea what you are talking about . Please stop ✋️ It was definitely a reactionary post out of the frustration of losing, but it’s doesn’t take a PhD to see that we squandered a lot of momentum by not having the right folks in place for the move we wanted to make and that’s been the major reason for the state of the program today. Don’t need any inside info to know we’re down bad and that it’s going to be rough for a little while, so forgive me for venting about the team on the only online forum dedicated to A&T football.

We need to stop all of these praises we are dishing out to our team, players, and coaches if it is not truly warranted. I did not watch the game so I am not in a position to critique others on what they observed. But what I can say is that these same type of comments were made when we beat Norfolk State. The offense is coming along, White looks good, defense is improving, and etc. Note to all that Norfolk State beat Hampton this year (31-23), we did not. So be honest as to how much improvement you truly see out there on the field and always consider the competition you played against. Not a good comparison. Hampton had academic eligibility/certification issues vs. Norfolk & 10-20 players did not participate.

I didn’t watch the game but I did listen to it on the radio. Overall, the offense played much better. However, we still didn’t have sustained drives. When we scored, we scored to quickly. So again, the defense played to much and tired later in the game. Time of possession and number of plays were out of balance. It’s hard to win when your defense has to work this hard.

Can't fumble the ball on the potential game winning drive inside of 4 minutes. It's a tough lesson to learn on a day our passing offense finally joined the 2023 season.

You can't tell an offensive unit not to score or stop a player from scoring, when the opportunity presents yourself 😆 a play can break at any time, in fact more touchdowns are scored from short passing plays pitch catch and run type plays then throwing the long ball. That is just a natural part of the game. A play can pop at anytime.

I didn’t say you don’t score. Of course you do. My complaint is that even though you score early, you have to recognize the stress that the defense has been under and have sustained drives during the rest of the game. We again lost the time of possession battle by a substantial margin. That takes its toll.

You have to protect the ball that football 101 especially for a RB. Also yes Christian can run between the tackles but he is not that type of runner (change of pace runner) . Christian is and off tackle runner that was asked to to fill in for Graves who is a natural in the pocket runner . That pocket is no joke 🤣 the back as to know when to go down because one's a back is stoodup that'swhen the hands come in 😆 Also his fumbles were effort fumbles . Don't get it twisted no fumble is a good fumble but he has to learn the lower you are ( small package) in the pocket the less chances there are that a back will fumble . Even with both hands on the ball it will get ripped out at some point in the pocket if the back doesn't stay low or get to the ground . There is a reason why shorter backs fumble less between the tackles aka the pocket small package have less to grab 😆

It can be a simple dive between tackles if the back breaks the second level what do you want him to do fall down . In essence, is offensive job to score it's the defenses job to stop the score . You can try to control the clock but when a play POP'S quickly the D just has to suck it up and March on . As a kid I saw Bob Hayes for FAMU score 6 TD's in the first half against A&T and not even play the second half 😆 2 in the first quarter and 4 in the second . That was not by purpose it just happened that way . That's football .

I heard the game on the radio and I saw the second half on four sports (sorry outlet).
Although we lost and the foe was not top tier, I did see improvement in a lot of areas. The main thing is they did not give up and fought hard.
These guys are coming around slowly but showly. We lost top tier players to the Portal with the likes of Tuten and others.
This is a learning and rebuilding year for us. The coaches are learning also. I am pretty sure with great recruiting and much needed help from the Portal we will be better next year.
Back to the Hampton game, we have improved a lot from our earlier games.
Thank you.
