Was that 75 yards pass a short throw or a long throw? Short throw on an excellent play call ,we scored on a jet sweep to Tamon Cook earlier , so we fake the jet sweep to Cook ,their entire secondary bit ,and the RB was all alone for a short catch and long run

No one talking about this your down 26-14 at Hampton 15 3rd and 4 your run the ball so I thought you would go for it and you decided that you kick the FG. It almost turned out the with defense picking a pass and stopping Hampton. Personally I would have gone for it

Overall we still had a golden opportunity to come back and take the lead, but we could not protect the football on key drives once again.

Right, but you gotta stay committed to the run with a guy who can get tough yards off tackle with a little wiggle to boot. 9 yards a carry ain't doing you no good standing next to RB coach.

I didn’t watch the game but I did listen to it on the radio. Overall, the offense played much better. However, we still didn’t have sustained drives. When we scored, we scored to quickly. So again, the defense played to much and tired later in the game. Time of possession and number of plays were out of balance. It’s hard to win when your defense has to work this hard. The time of possession only became way out of whack in the 4th quarter where we were losing badly and needed to score quickly to makeup point differential. Therefore, both our offense and defense are pressed to raise their play or risk losing the game. They did but lost due to other mistakes. Hampton did not score a point in the 4th quarter. The defense did not play too much. Excluding the 4th quarter our defense was on the field ~3 minutes longer than HU. It was that our offense is inconsistent in sustaining drives and made crucial mistakes. A&T vs HU Possession Time 23:54 36:06 1st Quarter 7:57 7:03 2nd Quarter 6:00 9:00 3rd Quarter 7:08 7:52 4th Quarter 2:49 12:11

It's basically a Texas route, but redirected to the seam.
It's similar to the play NCCU ran against us for long gain.
Very good call and design by Chris Young. Easy read and throw for our young quarterback.

Had 3 carries for 27 yards. He must can't catch. Christian ran alot of routes in the passing game If your talking about Graves? I thought the same thing "he can't catch with that cast on his hand and all " even to the point of suggesting that we throw to him because nobody has been corving him when he runs a route out of the back field. But to my surprise Graves can and did catch the ball in that Delaware game out of the backfield for a 7 yard gain 😆 🤣 😂 . So he can catch. Also Graves and Christian in the backfield at the same time can be dangerous for opposing defenses. I hope that Graves did not injure himself or re-enger his hand, because we are going to need him down the stretch.

BTW: That was some horrible defense by Hampton on that play.
We had no eligible receiver on the left side of the field ... and yet both Hampton safeties, a corner and the outside linebacker all broke left to cover the TE on a over route.
Four Hampton defenders trying to cover one guy is why the RB was left wide open.

Easy read and throw for our young quarterback. Correct Young modified the route where the tight end and and back reversed routes . TE took the post center seam drawing the safeties and linebackers as the back took the angle route seam good call by young 👏
