My guess is we are not going to beat Hampton or anyone else. When kickoff returns are your only offense there’s not much hope. Defense is ok not great. Every game the opposing team scores on their first drive with ease so I don’t know how that’s great. Getting first downs is the equivalent of getting touchdowns for this offense.
Dear Hampton just swivel kick the ball and you will win in a shutout 💯
I can’t believe we blew up this program to rubble - in a transition. The worst time in the world to do it. At least give time for recruits to see the possibilities of coming to our program would do. There have been some bone head asinine decision made in athletics - game zone, selling the stadium for pennies,- to name a few, but firing a two time conference champion while losing a conference championship game ranks up at the top of craziness.
So much for the promise we won’t be embarrassed by the move. We are the laughing stock of the entire HBCU culture. And all of it was self inflicted.. smh

If we had an academic board I would proudly speak on that success of A&T. But this board is for athletics..

Things ain't great but it could be a lot worse. Hell 0-27 was worse

I’m not talking about the record I’m talking bout the narrative. This is not the worse team but it’s certainly the worst possible time imaginable. There was one question everyone involved or interested to see .. that include recruits ..
Could we compete w the PWIs .. and I know in my heart that in any other year we would not lose to half these schools. Now we are literally at a critical juncture not to be Hampton and TSU. How we are perceived .. I’m on social media - I read the boards of our opponents. Trust me when I say we are a laughing stock.
Because we did the same thing to the basketball program as we did the football program something’s got to give. Add to it we have a chancellor search. Lord forbid if we get the wrong person. There a lot of what ifs.. what if Brown is not a great coach, what if Ross is not a great coach, what if we get a bad chancellor or one that doesn’t concentrate on sports. If 2/3 go wrong you’re looking at 10-15 year to recover.
We are not Mississippi Valley and this is not a normal period.

If HBCU culture is the only thing that you actually care about and you base your sense of of being in you have bigger problems. Worrying about HBCU culture, whatever that is will be a crutch and stop growth of this university. It reminds me of people that never leave the town they grew up in and wonder why they are broke and there is a cycle of being broke in their family. Be comfortable being uncomfortable, those that are comfortable rarely reach their full potential.

I don’t see a lot of the comments Yiu are referring to. Honestly the most hate filled and just plain nasty and disrespectful comments come from HBCU grads and black people in general. Just like the most negative and hateful comments about A&T football come from people on this board/A&T alums. The enemies of the program are actually the ones that claim to be the biggest supporters 🤷🏾♂️.

Yes the HBCU grads are talking mad smack and that’s what mostly I see on social media- particularly the biggest HBCU influencers and bloggers. But they dont have to say it. Like I said it was already in peoples heads . Particularly when we have alumni running around making statements that we moved up and better. The chitlin conference etc. makes us look even more dumb. We knew it was going to be in the atmosphere before it even happened. That’s why the promise was made we are not going to get embarrassed. Everyone knew what it was. Period.
And all I’m saying and I’m not blaming anyone one person. The decision to blow up the program before establishing a benchmark in the CAA could be disastrous. I’ve had to do a lot of “I told you so posts” this is one time I am praying to Jesus that my fears do not become reality, and we don’t spend the next 15-20 years rectifying this decision. We have done it b4. I refer you to the exit of coach Corbett and how long it took us to rectify that and we really never have to be honest.

It’s all noise and useless banter.

In the grand scheme of things these HBCU bloggers are nobody’s. Believe it or not the people that right checks and send their kids to school for an education don’t know these bloggers. Any idiot with a Twitter account can call themselves a blogger or influencer 😂. People with lives and are actually movers and shakers in this world aren’t on social media following random idiots. What you fail to understand is that the program wasn’t blown up, Washington ran it into the ground. All the players you see on the field are Washington not Broadways recruits. The roster was literally mismanaged by Washington, signing a bunch of kids that were undersized or couldn’t cut it academically. All the quarterbacks on the roster were recruited by Washington, the WRs that drop passes recruited by Washington. The offensive lineman, recruited by Washington. We didn’t beat a single team last year that had a winning record. This year was going to be a disaster regardless of who was brought in, the bright spot is that we now don’t have to worry about being under NCAA penalties because of academics.

Let’s not forget that Campbell current QB wanted to transfer to A&T and Washington turned him down 😂😂 I hope this isn’t true; because we have at least 4 more years of that type of bad position evaluation.

Yes it is true, the Headless Horseman said it before last years game…they are friends from high school.

And Washington was not fired. He got while the getting was good.
But if it makes some people feel better to think that’s what happened, so be it.
This season is a scratch. Best bet imo is to switch around some offensive coaching duties even though coach said he was loathe to do so. I’ve said it before, what do we have to lose? We’re already dead a$$ last in the nation.
