Lol it did accomplish the goal of reducing foot traffic. It is literally unfathomable that’s even a stated goal when you are trying to fill a 22k seat stadium. But you are correct goal was met. “We got too many people” said no one ever That was a goal, there were too many people in the enclosed space, especially when those people never enter the stadium. The Gardner - Webb football program paid out $3,295,756 in expenses while making $3,295,756 in total revenue. So, the program broke even. It’s unfortunate that it didn’t make any money, but, then again, it didn’t lose any money either. www.collegefactual.com/colleges/gardner-webb-university/student-life/sports/#footballwww.collegefactual.com/colleges/north-carolina-a-and-t-state-university/student-life/sports/In terms of financials, the NC A&T football program paid out $3,493,647 in expenses and made $3,467,102 in total revenue. That’s not such good news since it means the program lost money to the tune of $-26,545. These are operating budgets, I could be wrong but I’m not sure capital projects, facility upgrades are a part of that budget.

Our football facilities are better, stop making excuses for a bad coach that no one else would hire lol.

Well like I said 99.5% of football manages to handle it without the policy .. that’s pro, FBS, FCS, div 2, div 3 and naia.. but hey A&T got it right everyone else is wrong and we have a full stadium and a robust culture as reciepts to prove it. 👌

Lol my only hope is no one else is dumb enough to follow. Unless they want their stadium and tailgate game day to be like ours .. and it’s not the worst but it sure is lack luster for all we have .. but most people do have a marketing team that will apply what they learned and common sense. Culture breeds excitement and excitement brings dollars. Maybe students and others will come out their dorm rooms if there was a real party going on. But who cares about that .. as long as you have all that space at a football game. It literally is mind blowing. And then you guys will be like “what can we do to get attendance up” .. which one is it .. do you want a lot of space or people. You can’t have both. All you people that need space stays clear of homecoming it’s going to be jammed pack .. and jammed pack is clearly something you don’t want - at a football game. Can’t make this stuff up.

Revenue is more important than attendance!!! The students already paid!!! Not having the gamezone doesnt equal increased attendance, history tells us the complete opposite. Another big decision that you made early on in your tenure as AD, was the implementation of the Game zone. That decision was met with a lot of controversy and media attention. How would you assess the overall impact of the Game Zone over the last couple of years and is it too early to determine if it’s been a success or not? Earl Hilton: “From my perspective it’s been a success. The baseline that I’m using is Homecoming ticket sales, year over year, and those are up the last two years over the previous year. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last week, Tennessee State won its homecoming game against Norfolk State in front of 13,395 fans in Nashville. That was much lower than last season's homecoming attendance, per The Tennessean, and George called out those fans who were able to tailgate before kickoff but never made their way into the stadium. "What I find interesting is that there was almost 30,000 fans outside of Nissan at homecoming while we were playing the game and a lot of them never came into the stadium," George said. www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/titans-legend-eddie-george-blasts-tennessee-state-fans-for-low-attendance-despite-on-field-success/

Lol of course he’s going to say it’s a success but he’s totally wrong. If you look at the rate or grown we had prior to the game zone and the rate of growth after its negative growth. And we don’t need data. We have eyes we can see the compete dismantle of the culture we was building over night. It was like night and day. It went from a jam packed party to a ghost town overnight and it gets worse every year .
The baseline is not homecoming. The baseline is growth .. gamezone does nothing but limit growth .. it’s actually designed too as you state with the intended goal - to decrease traffic which is the same thing as decreasing people. I don’t know a school in the entire universe where that’s the goal. Period
Even nccu who has a form of a gamezone recognizes the importance of building an environment and culture and they have a yard ticket for ten dollars .. that’s way more equitable. I don’t particularly like that but I could live w it. Our policy is extreme and defies common sense and logic. It’s not equitable and it’s counterproductive to the intended goal.

TSU has not had a winning season since the civil rights era and their fan base sucks. He lucky they got 13k in there. We are the largest and greatest. Our gameday culture and attendance should reflect that. It does not. TSU is a prime example of what happens when you remove culture . They are my fear.. they removed the games from campus and was forced to join the pwi conference .. overtime this was the result. This is my fear and this is why you pay people to do long term marketing.

Our gameday culture and attendance should reflect that. It does not. They are 4-2. Their record has nothing to do with the 30k people tailgating that didn't step foot in the stadium. They were 0-4 last year and had higher attendance. We are not the greatest as it pertains to football and attendance, that is SU and JSU NC is a basketball state

They always start out hot if I was a betting man id bet they still have a losing season. TSU is my fear. I don’t want to become them. You guy down play the importance of culture and with black people it’s everything . I know what you want but it’s not the reality. It’s not even the reality even for PWIs. Football itself is a culture. Banda tailgating, vendors .. there is a small fraction of die hard fans but that is the minority .. for most it’s about the entire game day. And that ain’t never going to change. You can squeeze us die hards to 100.00 a game but there is only so much juice in that lemonade.

This is my fear and this is why you pay people to do long term marketing. The only Culture that has been removed is the White faces that our team plays on the field . You can remove culture but you can give it away . Also HBCU sports Culture for the fans as never been about the game . HBCU Culture has always been about being seen at the game and the bands . Also TSU has never had the fan support with in the state of Tennessee. If truth be told TSU as always been more attractive outside of the state playing in classics. A&T is not TSU because TSU has never really had a home outside of the MID-WEST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE which they left in 1970 before joining the PWI conference they are in now . Stop making comparisons. Hell some complain about everything..i.e wanted inclusion complained about not getting it , got inclusion and complaining about having it with a BS excuse about losing our Culture and Identity WTF 😒🙄😤😑 . Culture and Identity can not be lost . But it can be forgotten and given away Dammit. I don't see TSU or A&T doing either but I do see individuals especially the Educated people forgetting and giving it away for a handout at a tailgate . My friend just got back from the Alabama game . He said that he never set foot in the game and spent his time in the tailgate area and he had tickets 😆 . Some programs shut down the tailgate areas in the stadium parking lot when the games start . So people only moved to a location with in hear shot 😆 and continued tailgating and watched the game on TV with the cheering from the stadium in the background 😆

😂😂 I just try to state the obvious. This time I was lured by A&T- Roy. I harp on it because some policies just don’t make sense. I’m not the only one that feels the way I do, most people I talk to the tailgate agrees. All you if to do is have memory and eyes. You can see what it did and it’s doing . Most of you agree to - you constantly have gripes about attendance what we can do to make it better. Then those same people say -“ we need lots of space and walking room and I rather have that - than people” that will never make sense.
But I’m done .
