Right now, he is probably our second best "ball carrier" on the team. We definitely need him running the ball. If we are going to let 5'6, 130 pound Baker run the ball 8 times a game, we definitely need to let Ifedi carry the rock some. I think he needs a whole half package of his own, complete with the TE’s, his long passes lack speed he can hit the TE’s on crossing patterns out routes and red zone situations.

The Young Man was a magician with the rock that first half vs Duke.

The greatest indictment of this coaching staff is that they have not found a way to get more out of IFedi's skill set.

He needs a couple of series but it’s got be more than wildcat to strong side of the field. He is not a bad passer rolling out and throwing 5-10 yard dink pass, he is a effective RPO QB. Not a stand in the pocket passer.
Dooms touched on fact we are missing a lot of talent to injury but we do have adequate back ups but the scheming has not been there to take advantage. A guy like DJ Crossen can line up out talent you but yiu can’t send his back up out with the same plan.

they should be using him akin to how carter was used when he backed up raynard. bring him in "strategically" for a series or two in every game if possible allowing him to throw the "safe" short passes like he did against duke but also allowing him to use his "legs" when appropriate...

I agree but just can’t send him out there and say …wildcat right / Qb sweep strong side of the field and that’s the extent of his pkg

Whoever is in there, I would have them fake to Ja the first 3 or 4 times, and dash.
But again, that Young Man was like smoke and mirrors…you look up and he was running down the field!

I don't know how to embed it, but this Cam to Olsen play is the exact type of plays we should have designed for him. Would of been perfect for that first drive against Kennesaw in the red zone. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tuus9bvanM

Truthfully speaking Ifedi's a lot better in the short passing game then Fowler is . Fowler is a long ball passer that's how his vision processes , some QB's are like that they can throw the long and medium pass but they don't have the vision to see the shorter routes without staring the receiver down . Short routes require quicker read processing progressions because of all the traffic . Ifedi is more of a short to medium passer their process progressions on short routes are a lot quicker without staring the receiver down . That's why he has trouble throwing the long ball because it takes longer to develop and doesn't have that distance vision that's why he overthrows a receiver or under throw his receiver on deep patterns . Ifedi would have killed KSU doing to them what they did to us 😆 Dink and Dunk. There should be a package for him passing to the backs , TE and the wide outs on medium seam routes . Our passing philosophy is all jacked up has been for years . We don't use the TE much , we don't throw to the RB's much, we don't put our Wide outs in Pitch -Catch - Go situations in space and rarely do we use the middle of the field all deep sideline routes in other words clock management is not a priority and that puts a lot of pressure on the QB, we prefer to score quickly and often neverthinking about setting the long ball up . Do you know how much pressure that puts on the defense ? Ifedi in a double TE formation would be something to see because everybody knows that we throw along so they give the wideouts a 8 to 9 yard cushion it is rarely that they press our receivers you have five yards right there on a quick slant and once he presses then you go Post Corner on both sides with the back in the flats TE in in the middle seam who does the safety cover Money in the Bank . I personally think that this game is going to be a lot closer then people think , Brown is going to be very important .

Maybe they can't catch. Don't know. A&T has never used the TE . Even under Coach Broadway the TE was just a stay at home Blocker . Most TE routes are quick Pitch Catch Go routes . We prefer Deep passes , We don't even consider the short passing routes. That's why teams gave us a 8 to 9 yard cushion because they know we won't take advantage of it , and if we do it's not going to the TE .

He played really well at Duke. Have not seen him since in a significant role. Our coaching staff has no imagination or element of surprises. We are just plain old bland.
We need some "umph" and imagination from our dull coaching staff. Don't expect it now or next year.
That is why a change is needed with this staff "this year"!!
