We have absolutely, positively got to find a way to get him on the field every week. Period. End of debate. Dude is one of the top 5 athletes we have on the entire roster right now. He is not doing us any good standing on the sideline holding a clipboard. Either design a package of plays that he can run at quarterback for a couple of series each game ... or switch him to a new position ... or let him do something on special teams, a la Joe Webb for the Panthers. But this is where a good football coach earns his paycheck. Somebody has got to find a way to use this kid's natural talent to benefit our team. Need someone to distribute the ball. We have entirely to many weapons to not have a QB that can hit a man in stride

Man, I was nervous as heck whenever Carter ran the ball. DSU defenders were intentionally going low on a lot of tackles.
Gotta make a commitment to getting Ifedi on the field a little more. He can be effective even if the defense knows he's likely to run the ball.

somebody suggested that ifedi be given a few snaps at rb and after replaying all of his snaps against dsu, i'm inclined to agree with that given our lack of depth at that position...

I was the one who suggested it; mainly because we have no depth at the position.
Ifedi would be a Todd Gurley / Eric Dickerson type of running back.

Hold up...is this the same Ifedi from Spring game... "Kingsley led the way by going 13-for-19 for 168 yards and two touchdowns. His other touchdown pass went to Jordan McDaniel on a five-yard TD pass. McDaniel also had a 44-yard reception in the game. Fowler was 5-for-18 for 92 yards." In his first appearance during the Spring Game he connected on over 66% of his passes for 2 TDs against our top rated defense...If you give a baller enough reps he will ball out. Give him more than a handful of 3rd string runs and that man will light it up!

I was the one who suggested it; mainly because we have no depth at the position. Ifedi would be a Todd Gurley / Eric Dickerson type of running back. For one there is a total different mind set RB that you have to have even if your a running QB . From seeing Ifedi run running Back is not the position for him . Don't waste his gifts trying to make him a running back . Being truthful he would make a better receiver then a RB . I can see him as a receiving TE rather than a running back like that quarterback from Arkansas that switched to tight end in the NFL . If anything Carter has the mentality of a running back because he knows how to make himself SMALL in order to use his size and leverage on contact when he runs . Playing RB is a lot harder then people think it is because you have to be mentally ready to bang on each and every play . Ifedi has the talent to be a great RPO QB but he has to learn to take advantage of his opportunities when given by the OC like Carter did backing up Raynard . It would be nice to see Ifedi and Carter on the field at the same time in some type of package . I'm still wondering about the OC and his play Calling which to me is totally suspect and lacks imagination .

He is a QB, period. i'm not suggesting that he "permanently" change positions, i'm only suggesting that he be given a few snaps at the rb position because we seriously lack depth there. the guy is big and strong and can take the hits and he's got good speed too. so yeah, i would consider doing that if i was coach washington. to me baker is too small, graves is injured, and nobody else has impressed me that i have seen this season... He looked so good running the ball because a) Del State was completely pooped and b) they had no idea who he was. There's a difference between a direct snap and a handoff.
We have guys on the roster that are supposedly very good but have yet to run the ball. It's up to the coaching staff to decide when they're playing. But personally ain't no way in hell I'm playing what should be my second-string qb at rb.

well, somebody other than martin better step up really soon at the rb position cuz somebody needs to give martin some "relief". glad we were able to get martin out of the game early against dsu, but our meac competition is gonna stiffen up real soon and we simply can't run martin into the ground the rest of the season. we need to keep him healthy and that's hard to do if we don't have a reliable backup rb...
