Limited thinking is why we don’t have a stadium that’s 3/4 or full .except homecoming and NCCU . You got start somewhere if you provided bus service to and from I think you could get a couple 100 UNCG kids... How much would it cost to run a shuttle bus down market street. Low investment !!! You already have close to a couple 100 UNCG students attending A&T football games . Has anyone ever taken the time to some how count there fans that attend A&T's games ? It might surprise you .

Nawl. We need to work on getting our own fans to show up for games besides GHOE, NCCU, and maybe Howard. It still comes down to MARKETING, ADVERTISING and PROMOTIONS.
I agree that the top priority is to get our own local alums and fans involved in Aggie Athletics, as well as other alums around the state and in Southern Virginia.
HOWEVER, we've got to jump outside our own box and entice others into Aggie Stadium and Corbett Sports Center. Local public schools (9,545 employees and 71,357 students) and the local colleges are a potentially great source of revenue and support.
Here are some that need to be tapped:
- Guilford County Schools (9,545 employees);
- Cone Healthcare (9,287 employees);
- City of Greensboro (2,945 employees);
- Ralph Lauren Corp. (2,853 employees);
- Guilford County (2,603 employees);
- High Point Regional UNC Healthcare (2,504 employees);
- UNCG (2,481 employees);
- U.S. Postal Service (2,312 employees);
- Volvo Trucks-North America (2,200 employees);
- BB&T (1,905 employees);
If you can engage these entities in season tickets, sponsorships, promotions and/or single-game tickets sales, you will see a noticeable boost in revenue and attendance, IMHO.
It still comes down to MARKETING, ADVERTISING and PROMOTIONS.

Those kids probably only represent 15% of UNCG's demographics or less That maybe true (15%) but getting White , Hispanic or Asian students to attend sporting events and activities on HBCU campuses has always be a problem even if they are students at said HBCU's . Look that is a cultural thing you can offer to share your culture and identity to others but it is up to them to accept the offer . There is nothing A&T or any HBCU can do to change a students mind that is closed . A&T can only be A&T it is up to the cultural bias students to change their mind and embrace and enjoy the HBCU experience .

You missing the point. All I am saying lets make it easy / comfortable for them I am not crazy enough to think non black kids from another University are just going to show up on their own to Aggie Stadium.

Very, very few of the white, Asian, and Latino students at A&T attend games. You'd be hard pressed to find them in the stands. Those that attend, are usually athletes. I don't think that you will find 200 uncg students attending. Some of you who have expertise in marketing, should take a leave of absence from your job and go to A&T to educate the school on how to sale their program to the public. Those of you that are retired and have the same expertise, should also go to A&T and share your knowledge. This would need to be done in June, July and August. What A&T is doing is not working. They have advertising in all of the area newspapers, on all of the area TV stations, as well as, ESPN and MSNBC. I'm sure they reach out to their corporate partners. Apparently this isn't working. So they need help from those who have the expertise.

These Marketing Town Hall Meetings should take place right after the New Year Holiday. They would need to have a firm plan in-place by February, with a launch in March, IMHO.

There are corporate partners giving money to athletics, but A&T needs to attract a lot more of them with bigger dollars. The school is caught between a rock and quick sand. Those corporate folks are big supporters of the four most popular teams in the state, and also even some of smaller D1 institutions. Many of the folks in our (Black) community like to support those D1 major teams. They either attend their games or watch every play that they make on tv. So, you can see our dilemma, especially when you can't get most of the student body to buy in.
Years ago coaches and players canvassed most of East Greensboro's neighborhoods, including churches, as well as Four Seasons Mall trying to drum up support for A&T football.

... especially when you can't get most of the student body to buy in. Most of the in-state student body goes home on the weekends. Going home is more important to them than a mere football game.

You can do all the marketing and promotions in the world but if someone doesn't feel a connection or kinship to A&T it's only going to produce minimal results.
Besides A&T is always one of the leaders in fcs when it comes to attendance. Our focus needs to other mediums. With most of our games now on espn, espn plus or streamed it's inevitable our attendance is gonna drop.

To increase attendance, we need to improve the game day experience. Attending a game, whether you watch it or not, should be enjoyable/fun. I feel our experience has too many issues for the causal fan to enjoy themselves.
A few suggestions:
- better/faster concession service - easier access to stadium - improve sound system - enhance stadium facilities (i.e., expand home side walkway, improve appearance (main entrance looks old, brighten up color scheme) - create "large covered" patio for beer garden / socializing - stop vehicle entrance into tailgate areas two/three hrs before kickoff (safety, my issue) - others?
Improve the experience/VALUE and attendence will increase.

Buccaneers announce Lowcountry Appreciation Days in conjunction with 2019 home football schedule CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern Director of Athletics Jeff Barber announced a series of Appreciation Days for the 2019 CSU Football schedule centered around the Lowcountry community. The Bucs will be hosting a series of "Lowcountry Appreciation" games to recognize the communities located around Charleston Southern. Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Goose Creek, North Charleston, and Summerville will all be recognized on specific game dates throughout the 2019 football season at Buccaneer Field. I remember back in the day A&T would have ; what we called back then " Coffee House's" for the high school kids where they could socialize in a college environment with Portree , interaction conversation and dialogue and more . Also they would allow people from the community to access the bowling alley, billiard tables and barber shop/hair salon in the basement of the Student Union . These activities where posted on all the high school bulletin boards with times and dates around the city and in some of the schools out in the county . I remember the bus dropping of students from Palmer Academy from time to time . You get the community on board you get the fans .

You get the community on board you get the fans . the disconnect with the greensboro community that you referred to was caused by much higher ticket prices. when i was an undergrad back in the late 70's/early 80's the locals in the immediate neighborhoods used to always come to aggie football games and most of them weren't alums. that stopped when we kept raising ticket prices and the game zone sealed the deal...
