I think it’s been some grumbling in the reserve seat section at the games

Maybe there aren't as many people on here that complain about Coach Rob as it appears. When reading the comments on here at times it comes across that some tend to have negative things to say about him vs. the good he does for the program or his players. If not that, its Coach Rob does good in this way but... Why always a catch? Why do we always do that to ourselves as a people? Why not every now and then say the guy is good and just leave it at that. Critique him another time. I asked before, did we do this to Coach Bibbs when she was here? Did we say she should do this, she should do that, the women are under achieving, etc? I mean Coach Rob has passed her in wins and championships. I just don't want us "supporters" to not realize what we have in a leader while we have him. With all the winning he's been doing here, he's probably become a hot commodity to non-HBCU universities. I would hate for us to lose him and then only regret not appreciating him while he was here.
I never suggested Coach Rob or the team shouldn't be critiqued. I think its healthy to do so. However, the conversation has been that the team doesn't want to win non-conference games because they lose non-conference games. These are not synonymous. That all coach and team want to do is win the MEAC. How can anyone suggest that simply because they lost games? That's like saying you didn't want to go on vacation because you lost your passport. I wanted to go on vacation but ish happens and it's unfortunate at times. The loss to JCSU was embarrassing. I can agree. Probably the worse loss under the Robinson era. I'm sure the coaching staff and players would think so and if they played JCSU again I bet our ladies would beat the breaks off of them to redeem themselves. However, our ladies aren't the only program in NCAA D1 women's basketball that have lost to a D2/D3/NAIA program during a season. Its unfortunate, we don't want it to happen, it probably kills us inside, but it happens. it happens at HBCU's and PWI's. Shoot didn't it happen to our men. I know they aren't held to the same standard as our women's team but I'm just saying it happens.
I did include all wins because the conversation was non-conference wins but if you want to subtract them out, do so. I didn't put losses in there for the same reason. The conversation has been about non-conference wins, not record. It seems to me that our women's basketball non-conference schedule has been 11, 12 or 13 games. So if anyone wants to know the losses for each season I listed, subtract that from the amount of wins. I believe the '13-'14 season was the best start is A&T history for women's basketball, which was under Coach Rob. That was non-conference wins as well.
I can agree our women's basketball team has definite room to grow. I would believe Coach Rob and his staff, along with the players know that they can be better than the MEAC. I think the only ones that believe they only want to be "MEAC good" are on this message board. Has anyone been following them all season long on social media and noticed the hashtag #closethegap. What do you think it may mean? Is that just for MEAC teams who they went 15-1 against last season and are currently 10-0 against this year? I want to see this program succeed with this coach. This team has great potential, especially next season when those Seton Hall transfers are eligible and we have a senior class of 6 that will want to go out with a bang. Don't let me get ahead of myself LOL.
I would say has anyone thought that maybe part of the struggle early this year besides all the injuries is that the team only has 1 senior? Leadership on the court (which the coach can only do so much) is necessary to accomplish a lot of the things we're expecting. Juniors aren't always ready for that pressure. Def not the freshmen.
Again we all want better than what we have. We should have better. I think this program can be one of the best in the country. Let's be fair though and not suggest that the coaches, players, managers, etc don't want to win during the non-conference season because they've dropped games during that time period. That like saying you don't want to win a conference championship by losing conference games. Hopefully we can have a better Nov. and Dec. in the future to help us potentially get a better seed in the big dance.

If you don't think Coach Washington would get reamed for losing to DII competition, you're kidding yourself. If you don't think Coach Joyner would get reamed for losing to DII competition, you're kidding yourself. Our previous basketball coach DID LOSE to DIII and DII teams (an exhibition game with the latter).....guess what.....HE GOT REAMED FOR IT!!
There are people who may be critical of Coach Rob, but this ain't a Coach Rob bashing website. If you lose to substandard competition - you're gonna hear about it on this site.
One other thing - as much as our men's basketball program has improved, I haven't heard of anyone saying they have the potential to advance to the Sweet 16. I (maybe others) believe our women's team has a chance to make it to the sweet 16. I cannot think of another DI HBCU basketball program (men or women) with such potential. That is a credit to Coach Rob. With that being said, it also infuriates fans when a program with THIS MUCH potential drops a game to a WINLESS DII OPPONENT.
I've gotten over those DII loses earlier this year, but I remain bothered by the home losses to DI opposition. Winning those games gives us a 13-14 seed. I still believe we have yet to see the best of Aggie women's basketball.....next year should be (and it better be) special....

wow! please go back and check to see how many "different" posters have been outspoken regarding "major" (not minor) criticism towards coach rob. ya'll are seeing several posts from essentially the same person and then you call that "supporters" as if the mass majority of posters here are complaining.
that's all i ask. there's a bunch of posters here at bdv, i'm quite sure the vast majority either have nothing to complain about (by not posting) or the few who do complain have "minor" complaints such as myself. now please tell me what head college basketball coach "anywhere" in america who doesn't get criticize?
if you think coaches at pwi's don't get criticized, then i'd suggest that you haven't been paying very much attention...

I just wish Coach Rob and his supporters had this much passion during the second half of the Akron and Morehead State games.
Those would have been good times to care about how the fans felt.

not sure if you were around when coach bibbs was here, but yes indeed she did get her fair share of "criticism" particularly during her latter years. may not have been the exact same criticisms that coach rob has gotten, but indeed she got criticized. i personally can recall coach bibbs getting criticized for the number of players she released or the number that left on their own. coach rob has had a good number of players to leave or get released as well, but he didn't get as much criticism as coach bibbs did. truth be told, just about any head coach who has coached at a&t has been "criticized". even retired head football great coach broadway (who we all luv) got "tons" of criticism during his tenure, as have current head coach washington. yet, all they did was lead our football team to unprecedented "historic" success! i could give you a long laundry list of criticisms directed towards coaches broadway and washington even though they both have been 2 of our very best football coaches "ever" to wear aggie blue and gold. i'm sorry, as much as i truly admire coach rob, this "whining" over fan criticism is starting to become "annoying". i mean, all coaches get criticized! even the best! uconn's geno auriemma gets fan criticism, do you think he cares? krzyzewski and roy williams get fan criticism, do think they care? no they don't care cuz it comes with the territory. man, this "whining" is beginning to sound a bit like donald trump, that all supporters should ever do is only "praise" himself. again, i'm a big supporter of coach rob. i think he's doing a very outstanding job and hope he never leaves. but my lawd, please stop the "whining". as coach broadway used to say, "put your big boy pants on"...
