The article also states that Carter is a junior and will be back next year.

See this is the thing that bothers me, we HAVE to play smarter. If Raynard throws the ball away, this isn't even a discussion. But, he takes the sack, we get knocked out of field goal range and to top it all of, he gets a concussion.

Well all you guys that have been asking for Carter to get more snaps, you're going to get your wish. Sure hope he's ready.

This is the drive summary for the drive that ended with the sack where Raynard was concussed:
Maine Martin was killing them on the ground. At that point he has the hot hand (well, legs). Leave him in and let him finish the drive by running plays at hyperspeed and not passing at all.
We had a first and 10 at their 13 which was set up after Maine Martin converted a third and six with a run. If you set up quick and run him again off that left side that had been gashing them ALL GAME he walks into the end zone. Get cute, slow down and try to pass and end up with a field goal and a concussed qb. Just my opinion, but the choice to go to passing at the end of that drive put him in that situation.

Carter is from Georgia, hopefully he will be extra motivated to put on a show down there in Savannah. We need him to get back to his old form prior to the injury at Kent State. He hasn't been 100% since that time.

I can't argue with this... especially since you're in the 4th quarter and you're trying to run the clock out as well as score. It's not a good look on the play calling.

Raynard shouldand could have thrown the ball away to avoid the contract . It was not the fault of the defender he was just doing his job . Also why was he throwing in the first place with the running game klicking why pass . This is not flag football .

You don’t need to body slam a player as you have their arms pinned, preventing them from bracing for contact with the ground. Like it or not, it’s hits like that they get people’s brains jacked and dealing with CTE-related symptoms later in life. I’m not defending the Barnette playcall btw. I just don’t want to see any one’s QB get body slammed head first into the turf by a 260 pound defensive lineman.

You are coached from day one how to protect yourself on the field there are a number of things Raynard could have done but his choice is what caused the tackle and the concussion . How much more can they change a game that is already more QB friendly then any other position on the field . All I'm saying is this if hits like that should be illegal then it should be illegal of all positions not just the QB . Hale the RB position is possibly the most damaging concussion friendly position on the field .

There wasn't anything illegal with that sack/tackle on Raynard. It's called football. As Dooms alluded to, the playcalling was super-suspect with the latter aspects of that drive.....and we're now paying for it. I think I will throw up if I see Carter doing the QB draw vs SSU 10 plays in a row. Frankly, we need to open up the playbook for Carter vs SSU. Ain't no guarantee Raynard will be ready for Central. He needs to be completely comfortable with any play the OC calls, no matter how suspect it may be.....

Deju Vu we could have a 3rd string playing QB against NCCU if Carter keep running those QB draws.
