Hey I was at the game and we had a legitimate shot at beating UNCG. As for the dunks, they were embarrassing and awesome but they didn't beat us...our crappy free throw shooting and bad game strategy beat us. Hail if we had hit 80% of our darn free throws, we would have had a good chance to beat them.
And what told us that we could drive in for layups. We kept trying and they kept swatting them into the reserved seats. That's what aggravated me...folks, we've got some legitimate shooters on our team. And they were hot Tuesday night...but for some reason we kept passing up open jumpers to try to drive the ball into the paint for a layup. And every time we got under the basket they either blocked it of we missed a contested layup. I guess when your jump shooting has been suspect for so long it's hard to trust them this early in the season.

Sixties, Did you ever consider for us to have it as a home game they may have picked the date ? I understand quite a bit of effort went in to negotiating this contract.
I am more encouraged than discouraged if we loss to a projected conference winner. It’s annoying we shot ourself In the foot via the line. But at least Joyner knows he has a decent product.

I can't believe anyone is that dumb on A&T's campus. We can't be that desperate to play folks that we refused to play for years because they didn't want to play on our campus. Especially the first game of the season with the "fixer up" talent we have. There is no large amount of money to be gained by playing UNCG. Don't try to explain something to me that makes absolutely no sense. Hopefully, Joyner can coach his players up to become very competitive this season.

....FYI, this is gonna be a big season for Joyner. I don't think we're a 29-loss program, but are we remotely close to being a consistent 20-win program? I dunno, but I'm hoping for the latter... It's fun going back through these old threads. At 14-12, there's a legit chance that we can have back-to-back 20-win seasons. These next 3 weeks are going to be a roller-coaster, though.

UNC-G just lost the SoCon Championship to #20 Wofford. They finished 28-6 and were #30 in the RPI heading into the tournament. Wofford was #28 in the RPI. twitter.com/UNCGBasketballHad UNCG won, the SoCon would have gotten 2 teams in the NCAA Tourney. I post the social media links because they are pretty impressive with their real time updates. It's one of the areas that we're behind in. But (aside from winning), it's something that we have to get better at in order to attract a larger following. UNCG will return athletic 2-way guard Isaiah Miller, rim protector James Dickey and PF Kyrin Galloway. But they lose leading scoring Francisco Alonso and PG Demetrius Troy. A&T will be returning 6 players with experience... starters Kam Langley & Ronald Jackson along with Tyrone Lyons, Andre Jackson, Dre Johnson & Webster Filmore. Redshirts Devin Haygood, Ed Ferguson and Trayon Mayo with also be available. Next year's game at the Coliseum is going to be a good one.

UNCG is not a lock yet fort the NIT. It will depend on how many #1 seeds get knocked out of the conference tourney

The question is whether they will get one of the 12-seed First Four spots in Dayton. Wes Miller seems to think so. UNCG getting in enhances our profile this year and sets up a great segway for knocking them off next fall. Three Greensboro squads in March Madness is quite the storyline.

A lot of #1 seed loss this week like Belmont, Hofstra, St Peters,Campbell, South Dakota State, and Lipscomb. There going to put at least 16 big boys in this tourney so you just wonder.

Realistically, the Southern Conference deserves at least one at-large. I was actually thinking Furman gets it over UNCG. And there are actually a bunch of mid-major teams that are in the running for an at-large bid this season. Amazing!

Yeah, Wofford really benefited from Jerry Richardson and the Panthers connection and money. He pumped millions in both athletic facilities and academic buildings on campus. I'm with you durhamsoaggie, just keep building our programs and hope one of our diehard alums hits the Powerball/Mega Millions. And they don't go "Hollywood" on us and forget where they came from!
