Everyone will be coming in for the second semester of summer school. Actually our fall camp will begin during the second session (late July) because of the early date with Jacksonville State so for us football fanatics, we won't be waiting very much longer of all. Literally right around the corner!

Reminds me of that freshman QB from Washington, DC who got caught with a loaded gun on Amtrak.
But at least he made it to campus for a few weeks.

You can correct me if i'm wrong ok , Didn't Cartwright get into a situation similar to this kids a few years ago and he bounced back so lets not past judgment until all the facts are in . Agreed. Another case in point was transfer RB Jah-Main Martin (Coastal Carolina) who was charged weapon possession and intent to sell along with a bunch of other folks in a traffic stop but had those charges dropped when it was later proven he was innocent of being involved in any crime. People jumped the gun down at CCU, yanked his scholarship and immediately kicked him out of school before the investigation was even complete. Their mismanagement of the situation cost them in more ways than one. Let this all play out and see where things go and then we'll proceed from there. That has been our uniform approach to other such incidents under our current athletic administration and it has worked well for all concerned for the most part. No need to change things now.

Excuse me for venting frustration here...but, dude, has a future, why engage in such non-productive activity now...? It's hard not to jump to conclusions, people want their recruits to keep their noses clean. I get mistakes will happen but, we still have to help these kids use better judgement. I'm just thinking...what could possibly be going through the young man's mind, is he gonna come up in such a way, he won't ever have to work again in life...? Nothing about this makes sense, just a bad choice and decision. If he can get past by some grace from God, I would suggest we (A&T Football Family) make certain he is surrounded by positive individuals and maintain a relatively shortened leash until he proves otherwise. Ah...I think I'm done venting, continue on.

I agree we will have to see how this plays out but it’s very unlikely he sees the field this year even if charges are reduced or dropped

I hope it works for him, but to get d1 scholarship and have it evaoporate over such a crime is a tough lesson!
We all make mistakes but a month long investigation...

Wiz Vaughn’s bond was unsecured, allowing him to leave New Hanover County jail on Saturday.
WILMINGTON -- A prosecutor took the rare step of requesting a bond reduction on Friday, allowing a New Hanover County High School standout the opportunity to continue his football career.
After Assistant District Attorney Lillian Salcines Bright requested a reduction in Wizdom Vaughn’s bond on charges of selling cocaine and possession with intent to sell cocaine, District Court Judge Lindsey McKee said, “Mr. Vaughn, that never happens, just so you know.”
Vaughn, whose bond was unsecured, was one of eight people arrested Thursday on various drug charges in the area of South 13th and Ann streets. Of the seven who made first appearances Friday afternoon in District Court, Vaughn was the lone person to receive a bond reduction.
Bright said she was making the request because Vaughn didn’t have a prior record, wasn’t a validated gang member and wasn’t on probation.
“The state is only doing this because he has things that stand out, in good ways, of this entire group of people,” Salcines Bright said, adding she would have made the same request for any one of the group Vaughn was arrested alongside.
Aundre Johnson, Vaughn’s uncle, spoke on his behalf in court Friday afternoon, saying Vaughn was set to report to N.C. A&T on June 28 to begin training and was at risk of losing a full scholarship.
“It’s unfortunate that he was caught in this, but it’s the neighborhood that he lives in, and he was there. ... We don’t want him to lose the opportunity to have a positive future,” Johnson said.
Johnson said he had been in contact with coaches at N.C. A&T, and they had expressed a willingness to support him.
“You’ve got an uncle here who cares very much about you, and it sounds like you have a very bright future ahead of you,” McKee said, before cautioning Vaughn to be careful about the people he had around him and the activities he became involved with.
McKee said Vaughn would be released Saturday morning and be subject to electric monitoring. He would, McKee said, be able to attend school, go to practice, go to church and go to medical appointments.

I hope for his sake this works for him. It does seem as though the court is willing give lenientcy if he does what he is supposed to. But, I would say he is looking at a red shirt now at best for this season.
