I'm happy for our basketball team. However I do wonder why iit took our university, with our basketball pedigree so long to be competitive again. I hope we continue to improve. The short answer... we finally made the fiscal investment necessary in the 21st century to attract better players, and we took the time to develop a younger coach into a better program manager. We did not throw Joyner away as many of us, including myself, wanted to do. Taking the time to develop our own talent through mentoring, training, and simply setting goals and expectations with reasonable resources can be successful. The only reason that I was willing to be patient with our coaching situation last year is that I’ve seen and read how having the right people on the bus can be more beneficial than having the apparently smartest/proven people/coaches on the bus...aka Good to Great...for whatever reason the leadership thought Joyner was the right guy with guidance. Remember Dean lost like crazy before winning.

What additional investment was made that wasn't made in the past 20 years ? Eaves and Alexander was here much longer than Joyner has been around.

Our players are playing with more enthusiasm, better chemistry, speed, toughness and are having fun in doing so.
I have not seen this attitude with our teams since back in the Corbett days.
I like how our new assistants do their jobs. It just seems that they are calm and are not screaming and hollering at our players. It seems as though they are all connected with Joiner and things work smoothly.

One simple word Talent is the X factor could Coach Corbert win with out talent. COACHES HAVE TO HAVE Jimmys and Joes to win, not Salley and Jane.

Aggies Get Big Upset Win Over ECU Courtesy: NC A&T Sports Information Release: 11/26/2017GREENVILLE (November 26, 2017) – North Carolina A&T’s two offensive stars in Aggies men’s basketball team’s 87-81 upset of East Carolina at Minges Coliseum talked about newness. Junior forward Femi Olujobi talked about a new mentality and Aaren Edmead discussed a new toughness. Both were on display in the Aggies first win over the Pirates in six tries. The Aggies beat a non-conference in-state Division I foe not named UNC Greensboro for the first time since the 2010-11 season when they beat UNC Wilmington 84-79 in Corbett Sports Center. It was their first non-conference in-state Division I win outside of Greensboro since beating Wilmington during the 1990-91 season. The Aggies (5-1) have now won four straight including two straight on the road. “We came into this game looking to win,” Olujobi, the nation’s leading scorer who finished with 23 points and nine rebounds on 11-for-12 shooting from the free throw line. “We have a whole new team and a whole new mindset. This was just another stepping stone to where we want to go as a team. Right now, we feel like we have a chance to do something special for the university and every guy in that locker room wants to be a part of it. Everyone on this team brings something to the table. With all the pieces we have, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.” www.ncataggies.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=24500&ATCLID=211687286&_ga=2.146079420.96317868.1511759108-294242472.1466658443

Aggies add to angst
By RONNIE WOODWARD The Daily Reflector Sunday, November 26, 2017With losses already to Central Connecticut State and Radford, it has not been a banner start to the season in Minges Coliseum for East Carolina’s basketball team. Minges served as a venue Sunday afternoon for visiting North Carolina A&T to record one of the biggest wins in its program’s history with an 87-81 defeat of the Pirates. ECU (2-4), which was 5-0 all-time against the Aggies, led for only 9:18 of the game, and A&T was in the lead for 28:41 in a poised performance. The Pirates battled foul trouble and struggled often on defense, which offset solid shooting percentages of 46.6 percent on field goals and a 7-of-16 mark from 3-point range. N.C. A&T, which went 3-29 last season, finished 29-of-34 from the free throw line. “You are not going to be able to win basketball games when you foul as much as we foul,” Pirate coach Jeff Lebo said. “It’s just impossible, and anybody can beat you when you put them on the line 34 times. They are shooting unguarded. For the rest of the story: www.reflector.com/ECU/2017/11/26/Aggies-win-in-Minges.html

Fans calling for Grambling’s Shawn Walker...they are certainly in turmoil at ECU.
