Saabman, A&T and the other HBCU schools involved ain't gone give you all the information that they know. If they did then they wouldn't feel important or worthy.
You can go back and forth all you want with your speculations and you still want know all of the information unless they the powers to be release it.
If they did give you the all of the info you still wouldn't be satisfied and you still could not change jack.

Are we required to sell the tix at face value? If not, I'm with marchingband69, dump them joints for five bucks a pop. Screw everybody else, make whatever you can off of them. My new working theory based on what I've read the AAF gave this year (outstanding job, btw) and what the bowl payout may be is this: If you don't like the bowl, help to ensure the AAF can be counted on to donate more every year than the bowl pays. A lot more. For example, let's say the AAF is solidly against the bowl and donates 1.4 mill to athletics. A bowl participant can stand to make around 750 grand or so if all goes perfect. If this happens for two years, you think we'll still be in the MEAC? Sheeeiiiii.... There's your battle plan. complimentary ticket sells or usually set by the holder unless there is some stipulation in the contract that says otherwise.

I wonder if the SWAC's recruiting efforts will improve as a result of the bowl. For years their selling points have been "get an education, we have a storied history, and oh, you can compete for a conference championship." Now they get to add "you can compete for a bowl game" to that list. If you're a kid that's not that up on how the football world rotates, you hear "bowl game" and your eyes light up.

I don't know about the bowl helping the SWAC recruiting but it should provide inroads for A&T as far as recruiting student athlete in that region. We have had success recruiting in Mississippi but as far as Alabama and Louisiana we basically have not had a presents there. as specially in Baseball, softball and track and field. So it will be intresting to see how A&T's demographics will change when it comes to recruiting.

saabman, we had some cats from Louisiana and Alabama when he who shall not be named was "coach."
I'd rather we stuck to the local area.

It'd be cool if the winner of the bowl could get a playoff berth the following weekend.

Thanks Trues. That is pretty good layout of the financials. Looks like the deal may be the best in FCS football with a $1m guarantee and a minimum net of $540k plus revenue from ticket sales. If we dominate Black College football over the next 6 years that could be a hefty payout and I will be glad to have left the FCS playoffs. I'm on board all the way now!

I was always on board, but this solidifies it for me. There needs to be some backtracking from alot of people who were against this deal, based on the financial aspect.

Deal looks good financially......Still on the fence after loss of AQ part. That will always leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Well now maybe I can show my face in public again. I was going to wear a disguise to this weekend's Spring Football game but I've changed my mind. I've been an advocate for this game since it was first proposed and these financial numbers show I was right. Playing in a post season bowl for HBCU's is all about the money! Lot's of folks looked at this as a racial issue but it's always been about the money for me. I've spent over 30 years in corporate financing industry and I've learned...when you got money, you can buy your way out of most problems. If our academic and athletic programs are financially strong, we can compete with anyone and we can win. This game will not solve all the financial challenges our athletic program is facing but it will really help. With the continued success of the Aggie Athletic Foundation and this bowl revenue, we will be rolling. Think about it...even if we have to give the darn tickets away for this game, we could bring in an additional $3 million in six years!
Now let me say this...I don't know what will happen at the end of the 6 year contract, but the goal of our football team for the next 6 years should be to win the MEAC and to be playing in this game the week before Christmas. Let's get paid the next 6 years and then worry about where to go then. We will have money in our pockets and we will look very inviting to other conferences.
