BDV.com is probably the main reason why Battle reassigned Dee Todd and Fobbs was forced to hire a real OC.
I think the powers that be at this university respect our collective voice.
Where else can you go and find out the mindset of true A&T supporters?

That's nice, but if that was the case Fobbs wouldn't even be coach. Are we going to do another petition to have Fobbs fired or pick his replacement? Howsabout getting a replacement for Eaves. Hell, let's just can Quiester while we're off running stuff.
Naw, I'm fine voicing my opinion that he should be hired, but fans signing petitions about who the coach should hire goes a little too far for my personal taste. I don't begrudge anybody else doing it, it just ain't for moi.

You think the powers that be and even Fobbs himself are not aware of the dissatisfaction among A&T fans? You betta believe that are.
I think Fobbs was so low key this offseason because he knows this is a make a break season for him and talk is cheap; it's time to produce..
As far as this particular petition, I think it will serve as a barometer to let Fobbs know that the fans would be very supportive IF he decided to hire Mo Smith.
BTW: Athletic departments form search committees all the time. We are just trying to help Fobbs find a good replacement for Dwike.

Mo will be a great asset to our program but he will not have the impact you expect. Leadership starts at the top. The kids DO NOT RESPOND to Fobbs because he sells wolf tickets. How, How, How do you go 0-22 with the Aggie Program. If you attended any games last year, you know in your Aggie Heart that our coaches lost those games.... Yes we were close, and when its close then its the coaches fault. I respect Mo, but he is one staff to early and one season to late. hamwalker, give it a rest! The guy is gone...that's probably one of the few positive things Fobbs has done...probably should have done it long before now. So, let it go. Let's work to get Mo on staff, and encourage Fobbs to get rid of any other dead weight (if any exists) while he's at it. I feel something good happening here. Let's focus on getting our school back where it belongs...on top! AGGIE PRIDE!!!

The "Hire Mo Smith" movement is really catching fire: www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?hiremo&1If we can get a couple hundred signatures by this weekend, I will send it to Fobbs and he will have no choice but to honor our request. You've gotta love democracy!

Sorry, I gotta pass on this one. Fobbs has to live and die with his own decisions. Secondly, how have teams performed that Mo has been a part of as an assistant? I'm not in favor of hiring someone just because they're an Aggie (See George Small). I beleive Fobbs should make his own decisions and hold him accountable.

You're right. I think Fobbs should keep on hiring first year coaches from NAIA schools or bible colleges. That seems to have made a great impact thus far.

This is the first time I come in this forum in like a month or two (because of the petition email) and I just wanted to quote someone that I agree 100% with. Why would you want this for Mo Smith? Why would he want it for himself? If he signs on with Fobbs (because of an online petition), what kind of credibility would he have in future interviews? Think beyond next year for Mo Smith. Think about his life. Joining the program at this point would be a terrible career decision. I don't think everyone is looking at this with a clear eye. It's immature.

I understand that a few people support it. A few people support the war in Iraq too. My question is Why? Who is it good for? I just want rational thought. Based on emotion, I would sign it. I went to school with Mo. We went to high school in the same area. Once you get to know him, you like him. But, rationally speaking, why is it smart for the man? It's like raising your hand and asking to jump on a plane that's falling out of the sky.

The team went 0-11 two years in a row and currently are in the midst of a 27-game losing streak. If Mo joins the staff and the team wins just a couple of games this year he would be looked at as someone that helped spawn a major turnaround. Plus coaching is one of those professions where you are just trying to get your foot in the door and have your name float out there. This is a no lose situation for everyone involved; the staff and Mo both.
Let's face it: Its not like Mo can cause this program to do any worse than its already doing. You can't get worse than 0-and-forever. Just the opposite, I think he has a tremendous upside as a young coach and recruiter. He can come here, launch his college coaching career and get his alma mater back on track at the same time.

Is Mo Smith a good coach. We don't know. Who said George Ragsdale want's to be Special teams coach. I feel Ragsdale has done an excellent job as running back coach. We only had servicable runners last year.

We believe he will be a quality coach that will be a great asset to our football program. So, make him an offer...if he accepts, fine; if he doesn't, so-be-it. It sure won't hurt to make an offer.
