Yea, they are rebuilding much like their football team. The weave doctor comment about the Golden Delight backfired. Most of the women in the crowd had weaves. #knowyouraudience!

Never was all that enthralled with the 100 even when they were in their heyday. Even less after this afternoon.

That was a pretty crappy performance by the Marching 100, given their reputation.
The BGMM is the #1 band in the land, IMO.... but I was very impressed by Talladega College as well.

1. Not playing to the home side . 2. The weave comment . 3. Them playing every time the BGMM played a song in the stands .

They didn't even have quality sound, even when they were in the stands, with their horns pointed to us. Their halftime performance sucked. I really didn't understand the weave doctor comment at the end of their performance. Their hypeman was respectful during the entire band performance, even mentioning Chancellor Martin and thanking us for allowing them to come to our homecoming. Then at the end, the "weave doctor" comment was like one where he was given 10 seconds to come off of his leash to crack a joke. FAMU's bad performance was highlighted by that poor joke.
And let's give credit to our hypeman for not taking the bait and cheapening A&T's performance by playing the dozens on the microphone. Them mofo's didn't even have a dance team....and he tries to crack on ours - who, by the way, are always on the top of their game. Much props to our band and hypeman for letting the product on the field speak for itself.
We've clearly surpassed FAMU in enrollment.....and class.

I guess when your band has been on the top so long you become nasty when you lose that status. But bad press and lack of innovation has turned FAMU into an "ordinary" band. And up until late in their halftime show I respected their effort to regain their status but...that crack about our Golden Delight really pizzed me off! It was a cheap shot and totally unnecessary. Something I would expect from a highschool not a nationally known HBCU! Next year when we play them in Tallahassee we should charge them to have our award winning band to show up.

That comment was not needed at all. I was sitting by famu's band and if you could've seen their "so called" aux, he never would've and never should've made that comment. If anyone needed a do, it was their colorguard looking like Ms. Ceily! And if anything, they could've left them in Tally and I too was not impressed with their performance from the parade and ESPECIALLY THE 5TH, WTH WAS THAT? LOL

That comment made me chuckle.
To me, Facing the Aggies make people freak out. Ive heard WSSU's guy crack ( not like that though)on us after a performance ( something like "now that we have gotten THAT out of the way" Its TIME for the best band...blah blah in the Nation.)
Its smack talk.

For what its worth, I think that we need a bigger and better FAMU Band for the League. Halftime is really special. Too the young Kids, and bands too.
I love to see the props that the crowds at the predominantly white schools give. Even during march madness.

pj, we do have a bigger (sounding) and better FAMU Band, it just happens to be located at A&T and is called the Blue and Gold Marching Machine. Eventually more HBCU bands will realize that the booty shaking band days are over and they all will start to get more creative like BGMM. It will take some time because HBCU fans hate change and will resist as long as possible. Until that happens the Blue and Gold Marching Machine will keep on surprising and entertaining our fans.
