I would tell them that The Hundred CANNOT participate in GHOE...their seats can be sold. ...its not like we have assigned seating...but I understand the meaning behind that Aggie Stadium has reserved seats on both sides.

For the record, we have used temporary seating in Aggie stadium a couple times before when the new track was first put in so that is always a possibility if FAMU decides to come up here to offset the 600 seats we noramlly would if they bring thier band. with FAMU for homecoming no worries whatsoever about a sell out for that one no mater of the "100" comes or not but . A chance to go agaiinst the reigning HBOTB champion? That's like holding a bloody steak in front of hungry pitbull. I strongly expect them to be coming to town. This game is a very serious candidate for the feature game for ESPN when its all said and done. I'm glad that Hilton followed my train of thought of putting a cupcake on the early schedule in Chowan and a tough but a winnable FCS game with Coastal. Excellent balance in the beginning, middle, and the end of the season with a combination of nice home games and plenty of easy travel road games that are both attractive and affordable. The lady of the house can't wait to go to down to Savannah and neither can I. Barring something unforseen, we should be rooting our Aggies on in person for all of them in person except Orlando and maybe Del State. Another great job by AD Earl Hilton in working some very attractive games and dates with the new 12-game schedule. My 2014 AAF check will be going into the mail this weekend.

Mr. Hilton did a great job with the schedule. It will be back to an 11-game schedule next year. 2019 will be the next year we can schedule 12 games. Regarding the Coastal Carolina home game, did we sign a home & home contract or is it just a one year deal? Also, when Norfolk State & Bethune Cookman rotate back on to our schedule next year, what two schools rotate off?

now quick question....do they stop selling tickets at 21,500? with the gamezone and all I think thats an important thing to factor in. That's a DAMN good question!!! Off-the-cuff, my recommendation would be to go about 2,000 over capacity...but not without input from campus security and GPD on adequate safety for all patrons and traffic patterns. If and when we get 21,500 fans to show up for a game, I say keep selling tickets and let the fire marshal shut down ticket sales. I think we can pack a lot more than 21,500 in Aggie Stadium and I'm all for trying. Make that paper when you can!

Other schools report more than their actual capacity all the time...I don't see why we should limit ourselves to ours. I'm assuming the 100 won't be back to their original 300+ member size next year so it'll only be one section to compensate for. And someone throw a number at me....how many people do you estimate stay in the grill area during the course of the game....or at least before halftime before the exodus from the game begins....I guarantee last year there were more than 21,500 in the stadium plus game zone......lets oversell!

That would be a very interesting ESPNU game. What would make it even more interesting would be if they would be willing to do a commercial-free halftime for just that one game and actually broadcast the real "Battle of the Bands". If ESPN knew the ratings magnitude of that move, they might consider taking the revenue hit for the commercials..... I hope we could negotiate something like this.

If I'm not mistaken the next two teams to rotate off the conference schedule for a while should be Del State and either Morgan or Howard. Morgan would be the next team most likely to go mainly because of the rivalry factor and fan draw generated by Howard vs A&T whenever they compete against each other.
If I'm remembering correctly, every MEAC team gets to keep 4 designated opponents no matter what and the other half fall into the rotation pool of a four year cycle.

I think Oldschoolaggie we could gain tickets sell but it have to be under our conditions that Hayes is not willing to do. More WSSU fan would come to fill up Aggie Stadium then to drive all the way to Hampton Virgina to play them.

beyond nccu and scsu, its anybody's guess. i would've thought the other two would've been nsu and hampton because of their proximity. howard would make sense as a designated opponent, but hardly anybody else. i guess a lot depends on who the other schools want as 4 designated opponents. but it makes sense to me to give each school only 2 guaranteed opponents and just rotate everybody else 2 at a time...

FAMU and Howard were the other two exemptions. Classic rivalries and fan interest at the gate were they de deciding factors from what I understand. I tend to agree with those four stable opponents every year.

Those are the(4) that I would have chosen as well.AGGIE PRIDE!

I would love to propose this to Aggies and Spartans brass...
IN THE SEASONS THAT NCA&T AND NSU DON'T PLAY CONFERENCE GAMES IN FOOTBALL, I would propose that we play each other to open the season in a non-conference game, alternating between Greensboro and Norfolk. I really believe that it would be a huge draw annually.
And whenever the games are designated conference games, the MEAC Office will continue to dictate the date and site (as it does now).
Any thoughts???

Since this is the schedule thread, I thought I would post this story. It references A&T as the last piece of their scheduling puzzle (and likely ours). Also, it mentions their coach's desire not to play money games versus FBS schools or lower division schools. I know we are not CCU but they are doing some things right... www.myrtlebeachonline.com/2014/02/26/4056825/coastal-carolina-releases-2014.html
