actually, i don't think the jinx was thursday night games per se'. i think the jinx was playing on espn, period. i think beating howard last year on espnu was the first time we've won a football game on espn, not counting the old "bet" broadcasts back in the day that we appeared on.
but somebody correct me if i'm wrong, i know we didn't win any games on espn during the fobbs era, that's for sure. so if we won any, it had to occur during the hayes era and i'm not sure the meac had the espn contract back then. or its possible we could've won on espn during the small era if we had espn coverage back then. i'm just not sure...

I was told that the Hampton game has been moved from Sat. Oct. 11th to Thursday Oct. 9th (TV game). I was looking forward to playing them on a Sat. because those Thursday night games don't attract a lot of fans. Oh well, it is what it is. Hey let's not accept what has "historically" happen at Thursday night games. We (you, me, everyone on this site and the entire A&T administration) needs to get behind this game big-time. First, the more folks that show up the more gate revenue we make and next, if we ever want to build our corporate sponsorship base, we have got to start filling our stadium. This games should be promoted as "The Payback Game," "The Prodicle Son Returns," "The Big Boy Pants Classic." Call it something but hype the heck out of it!

And make it $10 dollar tickets for the wssu fans since they love Maynor so much except GUR....charge he/she $20 for being a sugar blood....lol!

It can't be a trap game when we haven't beaten Hampton since 2003. And I don't think we have won a game on Thursday night yet (Sigh..). Definitely going to be a challenge, because the SCSU game is going to be PHYSICAL, but the players should be up for getting a win after blowing the Morgan game last year on TV and giving the game away at Hampton. Didn't we limp by Howard in Thursday night TV game last year just before the wheels came off?
That's right, I forgot about that one.

You are right Diehard, the HOF game is in fact the first home game against CCU. My bad!!!! The HOF induction is that Thursday night before the first game. Other than Maynor, Barry Turner, James "Bird" Sparrow and Ron Johnson will also be inducted. There are a few others that will also be inducted but I can't remember who they are right this moment.

Barry Turner was one of the better RB that we have had here at A&T. He still comes around. He was at a lot of practices last season. He also brought some H.S. players with him to practice a few times.

James Bowden is also being inducted. He was a wide receiver on Maynor's team. Wasn't a speedy receiver but he had great hands and was fearless catching balls over the middle. James and Barry Turner both were from Gastonia...one played at Ashbrook and the other at Hunter Huss.

Are they going into the HOF? I mentioned them as a great pair of scores/players. Like Johnson and Sparrow. Do not know their HOF status
