That's right folks this team can have as many as 8 wins next year and I am not smoking anything or drinking anything that will negatively affect my judgement. ;D
After seeing all the MEAC football teams this season, I see a weaker conference next year. A conference full of rebuilding teams and teams trying to stay consistant. Who will be rebuilding if not both sides of the ball at least one side of the team? FAMU, BCU, WSSU, NSU, and Hampton (defense). SC State and Del State will still be trying to define themselves as winners while Howard and Morgan State will try to get some consistancy from their players.
With the right out of conference scheduling, A&T can have two wins there. A&T should be able to beat WSSU, FAMU, BCU, NSU, and out duel Howard and Morgan State and with momentum A&T should be able to give SC State all they can handle for a possible ninth win. Wow, that's a 9-2 season.
The key to next year's winning season is getting A&T's coaching staff straighten out (not firing the head coach): coaching staff must be more organized, have better teaching techniques in all phases of football, have better game day plans and better halftime adjustments. If this means sending the staff to coaching seminars or bringing in experienced coaches to Greensboro to instruct the staff or hire more experienced coaches to coach different positions, you do it.
Fobbs must be more vocal during game day, before the game, at halftime and after the game (no more just "I see you guys tomorrow" statements after the game. Fobbs must connect with his team better.

That's what I've been saying. One win and it will be an absolute snowball.
I all we need is two more people on staff. I think those two will have to be very experienced. I think it's up to Battle to free up the money to make that happen. The money will not be raised, period.
This one's on the top guy and the board to decide if the want to fund a winning program or just give lip-service and fist-pumping like Renick did.

I've said it since the end of last season: We just need a real OC and quarterback coach and the offense will improve by leaps and bounds.
Coach Ray was hired as a offensive line coach and that is probably what he is best suited for. Not everyone has the makeup to create a gameplan or call plays.
Hell, I am probably one of the five or six smartest people on this planet ...but I realize I don't have what it takes to be a good doctor, lawyer, engineer, shoe salesman, etc.
Sometimes you just have to find what your calling in life is and concentrate on that.

Ya'll are insane, hopeful, but insane. The biggest fallacy in this scenario is that the other schools will not recognize their deficiencies or will do like us and hope that things will get better independent corrective action. What other school will be content to stand pat, FAMU, BCU, WSSU, NSU, and Hampton SC State or Del State?

I'm not basing my expectation on what the other schools will do. I'm basing it on the law of senior-laden offensive line and juco plug-ins galore versus sophs and little-used juniors at the schools we're competing against.
Treese, if you like we can chat some more about how we'll lose again this year. It gives me a headache.

This Aggie Football Team can be 8-3 in 2008
Maybe 3-8, Until Fobbs and D. Todd receive their pink slips we are going to be punished by the teams that we play.......... We will suffer until those two are gone

The other schools you are talking about are not going to drop down our level We have not won a game since 2005...the rest of the conference is slowly pulling away from us
We will be near the bottom on the MEAC for a while unless Fobbs makes some changes to the coaching staff

I thought we were talking about 2009. Man, we aint going 8-3 next year. I agree. This time next year we're more likely to still be discussing who our first victory will come against.

If he is ever gonna have a winning season it would be next year. He has 31 juniors on this squad, after next year (2009) he rebuilding again. Unless this year and last year were exceptional recruiting classes, I see nothing on Saturdays that validates a eight wins any time soon that covers 2008 or 2009.
