Well Broadway sounds as frustrated and confused about this team as we are. He really spent a lot of time going into details about how the sanctions were impacting this team.
I think he was aware of the challenges when he took the job but I think he really felt he could win inspite of them. I think he is finally starting to realize now he can't pull a rabbit out of his hat with the restrictions he's under. I think if the team had rolled over and played dead all last year our expectations would not have been so high this year. But with the great start last year and the close games, everyone expected us to be a lot better this year. Well we aren't.
What I heard Broadway say today is the coaches don't have these kids long enough in practice to help them get better so the players will have to do that on their own time. Man that's asking a lot of an inexperienced team.
Here's my real take-away from Broadway's interview...we are what we are and there's no real fix this year. We will improve when the sanctions are lifted. Fellas we're in for a long rough season this year and maybe next year too. Can we bring back the folks that got us into this mess and throw stuff at them during halftime of Homecoming? That will not fix our problems but I'd feel a little better about it. Aggie Pride.

My take on this is yes Broadway is frustrated and confused . Frustrated because he felt that A&T would be better then last year and Confused that they are not playing with pride to prove that last year was not just a Fluke season.

I didn't expect us to be better. That's like assuming that no team we play gets better the following year, which we assume waaay too often around here.
Well actually, I did expect our play as a team to be better, but the record to be worse.

The 2 games we've lose so far we lose the EXACT same way as last season. What's about to make this season frustrating for fans and coaches is that we will easily be competitive in the last 6 games. They will all be dogfights until the 4th quarter. It's the MEAC. But we will lose a couple of the remaining games due to lack of proper execution.

I hate sometimes when we lose broadway start talking about the hand he dwealth with. I am like coach we know the story.
If we had won that game he would not had said anything about this.
But he did say we only have 42 scholarship. Some people on this forum thinks its more like in the 50s. How can we find who is really telling the truth?

my take on this season so far is highlighted by the lack of production from mike mayhew. coming into this season, the least of my worries was our running game. we led the meac in rushing offense last season, but this season we're "dead last". who could've predicted that!
if i'd known during the preseason that we'd be "dead last" in rushing offense this year, i would've never had so much optimism going into this season because i already knew we'd have a hard time replacing miles. i thought it would be a "no brainer" that mayhew at the very least would be equally productive this season as he has been the previous 2 seasons.
so i really think we need to get our running game back on track! that'll open up our passing game and give pizzo much more flexibility in his play calling. but the bad news is that the strength of howard's team is their defense and that doesn't bode well for our offense this weekend.
i'm just hoping that we'll be more "fired up" than howard. to me, this is a "must win" game for us. a win would get us back to .500, give the team some badly needed confidence, and rid us of that bitter taste that resulted from our last 2 losses...

I am like coach we know the story. i don't have a problem with him mentioning our sanctions a lot, cuz a lot of our folk don't think our sanctions even matter. we got folk already calling for the head of our oc and they give no consideration whatsoever to our sanctions! what kinda crap is that! the way i see it, folk should think about their own jobs. what if you're held to the same standards as folk who do the same work that you do, except they're given 40 hours per week to get the job done? but you only get 30 hours per week to do the exact same thing. boss man calls you into his office and says, you're "fired" cuz you're not keeping pace with your peers! i don't think too many of us would be happy about that one bit. the first thing out of our mouths would be, "but they get more time than i do!" so the way i see it, why shouldn't broadway feel the same way?

trues...why do we have such a problem with the facts? Is he lying? I just think our focus for our football program is not where it should be...we just criticize at first sight of trouble. This season we've loss games....but we were not dominated by any team we've played and I dare say, we just played the conference champ (obviously the season's not over but, they are my prediction as champion). But, we as fans, will Monday morning quarterback everything, from play-calls all the way to the training staff running on the field with the water bottles. Instead of understanding the slow and gradual progression of the program. We understand, everyone has made some mistakes and mis-steps...but, whose perfect? Broadway has made his career by recruit good talent and making less mistakes than his opponents and that formula has brought about success. And right now, if we can eliminate the careless mistakes, we will beat Howard like a drum. But, mistakes come with a young team...we have a young team when you factor that most of the skill positions are freshmen and soph's except Raper, Kindle and Mayhew. What really bothers me most is...Broadway has taken this formula to NCCU (archrival) and Grambling and won championships. He brings the formula to A&T and it can't work... What am I missing? We talk about this Mayhew issue that has "supposedly" messed up the team, but do you guys realize at NCCU they did Greg Pruitt Jr. the same way and it brought out the best in him. At Grambling, they did the same thing to Cornelius Walker at Grambling and it didn't hinder them as a football team. We speak about this issue as if this coach just gets a kick out of making Mayhew's life miserable, trust me, it ain't personal...it's business. At this point, everybody can do better, me, you, the football team, the coaches...everybody! So, let's get it done. Sorry Fellas...I had to vent there for a minute.

I see what your saying but in the coaching profession if you win all is good. If you lose it's on. I know you were making a general statement but I have been to every game except for the last one and Pizzo has been very shaky w/his play calling. I don't think we should fire him but I think Broadway should keep his eyes open if it keeps happening. Every OC makes questionable and not so perfect play calls but I have seen some plays that were called this year that I thought for a minute we had "Big Slim" (General Lee's OC) still calling the plays.

Ain't nuthin wrong with most of what you have said but "the situation" has hurt a team that had no room for error. Can we get it back together and show a sembilence of what we did last year? I hope so. But real is real so far.

The main problem is the over all play of the O-LINE. Pass blocking they are ok but on the run side just bad. Again I say this " IF A&T GET THE O-LINE CLICKING ON THE RUN. WE CAN WIN THE REST OF THE GAMES WE HAVE. THE LINE PLAY IS THE KEY. PLAY CALLING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, IF THE O-LINE EXECUTES AND WINS AT THE POINT OF ATTACK YOU CAN RUN ANYTHING AND IT WILL WORK.
