The game was really close until about the last 3 mins. A&T's defence pull the game out for them. A lot of easy shots missed and a lot of free throws missed, along with turnovers. JCSU has a really good team. They could compete in the MEAC with a realistic chance of winning the conference. A&T will have to step up their game if they plan on going into UNC- Charlotte and coming back with a win. I was really impressed with the play of Bodiford. She is going to give us some much needed help down low.

After a 9 day layoff, one would expect the ladies' performance to be off.

wow, this score surprises me. reminds me of norfolk state's men having beat drexel and tcu, and losing by only 2 points to 16th ranked marquette, then they turned right around and lose big to ecsu by double figures.
folks, i talk about this all the time. athletic competition is very "psychological" at times and its extremely difficult for even the best coaches to overcome. when a team (especially young teams like ours) have success over traditionally superior teams (clemson & liberty), they have a tendency to "think" they are more talented than they really are. we can't let games like clemson go to our heads, they forget that they played their very hardest to beat those teams. so they "subconsciously" start to "play down" to teams that appear "on paper" to be inferior to us such as nccu who had only won 1 game or a d2 team like jcsu.
not to take anything away from jcsu, they seem to be a very good team based on what i've read about them. but norfolk loss they're focus against ecsu and i think our ladies did the same against jcsu. admittedly, i didn't see the game. but i find it hard to believe that if our ladies had played against jcsu with the same intensity and "all out effort" i saw them play against clemson with, that that would've been as close a game as it was.
i can envision that the same thing happened against jcsu that happened against nccu. we played down and jcsu played up and then we had to fight for our dear lives down the stretch. having been in similar situations many times throughout my experiences, i can almost guarantee had it been hampton in corbett last night instead of jcsu, we would've seen an entirely different lady aggies performance. i mean, look at what norfolk did. they lose to ecsu and then turn right around and nearly upset virginia tech this weekend. i'd be willing to bet my house that norfolk played much harder against virginia tech than they did against ecsu.
i'm sure coach bibbs being the hall of fame coach that she is will use the jcsu game as a teaching moment and i think our young team will learn from that experience. its one thing to be the "hunter" as we were against clemson and liberty. but its whole different story being the "hunted" as we were against nccu and jcsu. the good news is that we still managed to win the game and i suspect we'll see a much more aggressive lady aggies team on the road thursday at wm & mary. i wanted to go to that game, but decided not to since i have to work on friday. but i'll be at the odu game in norfolk on sunday and that's gonna be a very tough game for us. our ladies had better not come out sleep walking against the monarchs or else it could get real ugly, real quick...

I think you are underestimating JCSU. I told ya'll they almost upset UNCW in an exhibition and played UNC Charlotte reasonably close in an exhibition. Half their team is seniors and trust when I say they would finish top 4 in the MEAC. I don't know that we let our guard down. Bibbs knew how tough this was gonna be for a young squad. JCSU is a much better opponent than NCCU.

Decks is right, this JCSU team is legit. They have 2 young ladies on their team that can play anywhere and probably start on a lot of D1 teams. A&T did not play their best but it may have been due to JCSU's defence. A&T just wore them down at the end. We had a better bench than they did. We could go a lot deeper than them. You are right also OSA. It seems as if JCSU"s play surprised our ladies. In the second half it seemed as if they understood that they were in for a tough game and it showed in their defensive effort.

didn't Tierra Thomas transfer to JCSU? Has she graduated or just no longer part of their team?

The young lady that transfered to JCSU was not with them last night. Her first name was Brittany but I forget her last name. Tierra thomas is still enrolled at A&T I assume, because I have seen her at a lot of the home games this season.

I just remember Neely used to run back down court like she was Tyra Banks on the runway in Paris.

Brittney was in her own world when she was at "T". On the court you never knew what to expect out of her. One game she was focused and other games it seems as though she was just floating. She was a nice young lady though and very attractive. I am glad she graduated from J C Smith and I wish her well. Very nice young Lady.

I saw the game against J C Smith. They had a very well coached team with very good athletes. They really out hustled us 3/4 of the game and out rebounded us. There free throw shooting was superior. I think they might have missed 2 free throws all night. They kind of fell apart with about 5 to 6 min. left in the game because of our defense. We also helped them by missing a thousand lay ups and poor free throw shooting as well. We have to play better than this performance in order to win on this upcoming road trip.
