JCSU is a very good D-II squad. They played UNCC and UNCW fairly close in exhibition games.

An excerpt from NCA&T website on JCS:
... "The Opponent: The Aggies are meeting Johnson C. Smith for the first time in school history on Dec. 12. Despite being a Division II program, the Golden Bulls could present a challenge to the Aggies. The Golden Bulls are 6-2 to start the season, and 1-0 in conference games. They were upset 62-57 in their last game against Queens College on Dec. 5. But the Golden Bulls were predicted to finish second in the CIAA Southern Division after a record-setting 2010-11 season in which the Golden Bulls advanced to the CIAA and NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Tournament finals with a program-best 26 wins. The school returns three starters, and has six seniors on the squad..."

Whew, close call tonight against JC Smith. When I saw the halftime score and the Lady Aggies were losing, I got nervous. But we came back in the second half and outscore JC Smith 26 to 39 and won by 10 (61 -71). I'll wait to hear the details about the game from the Aggies that attended. I can see Coach Bibbs sitting out on the court with the team on chairs in front of her trying to find ways to get her team a win. She works real hard coaching in these tight games. But the best news is we won.

Nice contribution by Jaylan Bodiford off the bench. In only 10 minutes she had 9 pts 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

I was at the game and let me tell you....JCSU is no slouch. They came ready to play and our girls played good enough to win...but very sloppy. Bodiford did pretty well filling in for Gorham off the bench. The ability for our bench players to contribute a "Starting Line" effort will be the key to a successful season.
