GREENSBORO, August 28, 2007 – A big party is coming to the Greensboro Coliseum on Thursday. The second annual AggieMania Pep Rally will take place 7 p.m., Thursday at the Greensboro Coliseum.
The pep rally will lead into the 2007 football season, which starts Saturday as the Aggies take on Winston-Salem State at Bowman Gray Stadium at 6 p.m. Fans are expected to fill the Coliseum to cheer loudly as the Blue & Gold Marching Machine performs along with the Golden Delights.
The N.C. A&T cheer squad will also perform and the 2007 Aggies football team and coaches will be announced. Head coach Lee Fobbs will address the crowd. The Aggies are gearing up for the renewal of their 44th meeting against arch-rival Winston-Salem State.
Along with the AggieMania pep rally, Fobbs will join Winston-Salem State head coach on 102 Jamz at 9:20 a.m., as both coaches will be interviewed. The Aggies cheer squad will also be on the radio at 102.1 FM. They will be the special guest hosts during the Top 5 at 8 (p.m.) on the radio.
N.C. A&T will play its first home game of the season on Sept. 15 in a nationally-televised game on ESPNU against Hampton at 6 p.m. The Aggies also renew their rivalry against N.C. Central on Sept. 22 at Aggie Stadium, starting at 6:30 p.m. There is also a nationally-televised game against Norfolk State on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Aggie Stadium.
University Day is Oct. 13 against Delaware State at 1:30 p.m. And speaking of partying, Homecoming is scheduled for Oct. 27 against Bethune-Cookman at 1:30 p.m.
