I can see 15k are more @ the game >1.Being that the true sports fans will be looking to see if A&T is for real. 2: BCU is bring their Band . 3: you have a lot of new students that have never seen BCU's band or Football team.

valid points, saabman. but here's the rebuttal and this is why i don't think we'll even come close to 15k this weekend. I can see 15k are more @ the game >1.Being that the true sports fans will be looking to see if A&T is for real. been there, done that. aggie fans have been thru this scenario many times in the recent past only to fall completely on our faces time and time again. 3 years ago, we broke the "infamous" 27 game losing streak against jcsu followed by an upset win over wssu and the aggies were undefeated at 2-0. aggie fans thought we were now for real.
well, a couple of games later, we lose to nccu by 1 measly point in charlotte in one of the worst coached games i've ever seen in my life when fobbs botched a golden opportunity to win that game. had we won that game we would've been 3-3. instead, we went from undefeated to a record of 2-4. and 1 week later, we get blown out by morgan 41-3 on our homecoming and fobbs gets fired immediately afterwards.
2 years ago, we have a promising season going 4-6 (5-6 if you count the forfeit) with upset wins over wssu (again), norfolk state and a double overtime win against nccu. aggie fans thought that this time, we're really for real! well, the following year we promptly go 1-10 and coach lee gets fired.
so beating morgan last week 24-3 will not bring back most of our fans. we've been there, done that. its gonna take more than beating morgan to bring back the masses.I can see 15k are more @ the game >2: BCU is bring their Band . 3: you have a lot of new students that have never seen BCU's band or Football team. most students and alums don't even know bcu is bringing their band. hail, most of us bdv posters didn't know either until someone posted the other day that they were coming. and many of our students, alums, and fans don't even realize how good bcu's band is. we don't get to see them very often. only the "die hards" know how good bcu's band is. so that's not gonna attract too many additional fans either.so saabman, your rationale makes plenty of sense, but it only applies to "die hard fans". our "casual fans" are not moved at all by a win over morgan and the fact that bcu is coming to town. the only way to get our "casual fans" back is for word to get out that a&t has a good team again. but right now, "word on the street" is that a&t is still sorry. when "word on the street" is that a&t has a good team again, that's when our casual fans will come back...

Oleschool, while lengthy, that was on point. I dont think it will mater. None of my friends(also alumni) are diehards and they don't know nothing about nothing. All they know is they hear we still suck and we have a new coach............ and to them we still suck. Homecoming and NCCU is all they know.
Sadly, that's the majority of our fans/alumni. That on top of the fact that BCC doesn't have any NC fan base, we wont get to 15K.
Oh, forgot about University Day. Then we may get there. Big maybe.

^^^well said. I think we'll get at least 15K in attendance since it's University Day.
Thrilla, you can bring my prize (last week's pick the score winner) to the game tomorrow. Unlike Antoine Dodson, I'll find you. I'm bringing my son and his friends for University Day and may be in the reserved section for a short period. I have to keep a watchful eye on the kids.

Though I don't expect 15k, this game is billed as University Day ($10 tickets), it's gonna be great weather, and there was even a gameday ad in the News & Record yesterday.

Well as of earlier this morning there were nearly 2000 participants registered for University Day. With word being spread online about BCU bringing their band we may have some spike in attendance.

i hope we do have a good turnout. and if we do, we really need to have a good game against bcu. because a lot of our fans don't really know how good bcu actually is. we "die hard fans" do because we follow hbcu football day in, day out. but casual fans don't. if they see us get blown out by bcu, they won't think how great a team bcu is. they'll think how sorry a&t is.
the vast majority of our fans aren't on top of all of the teams in the meac, especially a school like bcu that's so far away from greensboro. the only thing our casual fans understand is whether a&t won or loss. most of them don't even know bcu went toe to toe with the miami hurricanes last week. only the die hard fans know and only the die hard fans care. the casual fans only care about wins and losses, with a special emphasis on wins over wssu, nccu, and homecoming...

Hopefully we'll have a good turnout.. I'll be there and I'm bringing an extra person who has never been to an A&T game so that's +1 so far LOL

My wife and I are picking up the bill for the tickets for the political science club (22 kids) from my old high school as volunteers in helping minority kids to get politically and scholastically motivated with a day out on a HBCU campus. These kids are so eager ( asian, hispanic, black and white) they are ready to explode and callinbge every minute on the hour it seems.
Like Billy Dee Williams said in those old Colt 45 commercials -"Don't let the smooth taste fool ya."
It's going to be a really good sized crowd of people out there tomorrow fo this game. Heaven help us if we happen to pull the upset of the year.

I'll just say this: What happens today has nothing to do with what happened years ago, and what happened years ago has noting to do with what could happen Tomorrow !! The Here and now is what counts.
