He's looking at Hampton and us as prime choices from what I've been told. I just hope we get lucky for a change.

HU recruits FYI But not Alton Hampton University is officially getting two former Division I-A transfers at linebacker.
Former Virginia Tech linebacker Lyndell Gibson, who was an all-Tidewater selection at Salem High, has transferred to HU, as has fellow all-Tidewater LB Travis Williams, a former standout at Lake Taylor who transferred from Miami.
Gibson established himself on the field at Virginia Tech but ran into trouble off it. He was found guilty in April of driving under the influence, paid a fine and was sentenced to 12 months probation. His lawyer said at the time that he was transferring to Hampton. Pirates coach Donovan Rose told the Daily Press in late April that the school had talked with Gibson, but that nothing had been finalized.
In 2010, Gibson tied for fourth on the team with 66 tackles for the Hokies while starting all 13 games he played at inside linebacker. In 2009, he had 53 tackles in 12 games, with five starts.
Williams, who redshirted last year with the Hurricanes, had 71 tackles, 14 sacks and seven forced fumbles as a senior at Lake Taylor. He set a school record with a career 69 sacks.
The LBs will join a pair of Southside quarterbacks at HU. Brad Hudson, who threw for 2,218 yards and 25 touchdowns last season at Great Bridge, and Dominique Marsh, who threw for 1,924 yards and 18 TDs at Booker T. Washington, committed to the Pirates in May.
Hudson graduated in March and was attending junior college at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif, which went 6-5 last season.

Anthony Carrothers Jr. — the starting quarterback at Grambling State last season as a freshman — has transferred to Winston-Salem State.
Carrothers, a dual threat, guided Grambling to a 9-2 record in his first season out of Charlotte's Independence High School.
"There's no quarterback controversy," coach Connell Maynor of the Rams said Friday after announcing the Carrothers' transfer. "Kam (Kameron Smith) is still our starter, but he's got to keep his job just like every starter who is coming back."
Smith helped the Rams to an 8-2 record last season but missed spring practice because of surgery for Crohn's disease. Maynor said Smith will start practice next week 100 percent healthy.
Last season, Carrothers (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) passed for 1,443 yards (93 for 170) and seven touchdowns, with eight interceptions. He also rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns.
Carrothers' father, Anthony Sr., played for WSSU in the early 1980s.
Maynor said that Carrothers will have to prove himself and that he also will give the Rams depth at quarterback.
"He's small, but he's a little firecracker and packs a big punch," Maynor said. "He's a leader, and he's a winner and he's proven that in high school and college. He went into Grambling as a true freshman, and they won nine games, so he knows how to play."
Carrothers, as a senior at Independence, passed for 4,028 yards. He finished his career with 10,775 yards passing, second in Mecklenburg County prep history to Chris Leak, who went on to play at Florida.
Maynor said there's no question Carrothers will give the Rams something extra.
"We know he can play, but so can Kam Smith, so everybody is going to have to compete for their starting job," Maynor said. "That's my job, to play the best players at each position, and that's what I'll do."
The Rams will report Tuesday, and their first practice is scheduled for Thursday.
