I think most of us on here are concerned about the state of education in Black America one way or the other. I read some great thoughts from a number of posters on here concerning education, and the thoughts are usually interspersed in a thread about who's performing at homecoming or how many recruits we have.
The state of education is pretty deplorable for us right now. A forum dedicated to educating black youth (or disadvantaged youth or whatever) is a must in my opinion. I'd do it myself but I don't have the moderator capability.

We started a program at the local Boys & Girls Club 7-12 graders twice a year . We have Compliance Officers and Coaches from the local High schools & Colleges come in and do Forums. We have found that it's not so much not getting the Kids to come, it's more so getting the parents to come on board with the program. We provide free study halls, computers, Tutors and even some high school teachers come in just to help but the parents. They are the main problems that we have it's like their CRABS IN A BASKET that don't want to see their children do better. You get the parents involved your well have the child.
