Today the Blue Death Family (BDF) is pleased to annouce that it has officially launched its first ever online fundraiser. Since its inception, the BDF has contributed financially to the university’s various fundraising initiatives and currently works in concert with the National Aggie Club and the Victory Club. This preseason, the BDF has decided to organize its own fundraising campaign, devoted specifically to help bolster the A&T football recruiting budget. Estimated at just $40,000, the Aggies' recruiting budget ranks near the bottom of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference teams. With an additional $20,000, Coach Fobbs and his staff will hopefully be able to locate and attract more top-notched talent. Aggie Pride! Click here to donate: www.active.com/donate/2007preseason

Looks like James Butler is the early leader, already reaching gold status with a $100 donation!

Uh oh. Duke Meekins just went for the gold with a cool $100 contribution. www.active.com/donate/2007preseasonThings are starting to heat up. We've only been live for 30 minutes and we've already brought in more money than Phillip McAlpin.

BTW: You don't have to be a big spender to join this fundraiser. You can obtain the "pride level" with just a donation of $10. www.active.com/donate/2007preseasonThat is basically how much you would spend on lunch. Plus, you can choose to remain annonymous when you make your donation.

Lookey here. We just got our first platinum giver: Roland Dixon with $300. He is now the man to beat. So far the BDF has raised over $1,000 in just one afternoon. We are definitely on pace to reach our goal of 20 grand.

My intention is to drop a $100 each month and challenge others to join me in this effort.

This is excellent! Why can't the Aggie Club and/or the Athletic department do the same?

The BDF has always been trailblazers and innovators. This is just another example of that.

Thrilla,
Plan A: Why not ask the A&T Athletics department link to the BDF site for alternate means to contribute besides the Aggie Club and Victory Club?
Plan B: Why not ask A&T Athletics to post the donation link as another alternate to support just donations and giving to the program?
Just an idea....
If this is successful, it would resonate very well within and outside the Athletics Dept...maybe A&T should hire you to come up with a plan to market the university!

The athletic department should definitely post a link to bluedeathvalley.com.
BTW: I have volunteered to do pro bono work for A&T many times, but no one has ever contacted me. I can't force people to use my brilliant ideas.
