Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed tight end Troy Bienemann (BEN-a-men) and offensive tackle Qasim (ka-SEEM) Mitchell to one-year contracts. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed. Mitchell (6-foot-5, 347 pounds) has appeared in 22 games during his NFL career with 16 starts at left tackle. He started two games at left tackle in 2003 and played in all 16 contests with 14 starts in 2004 for Chicago. Mitchell appeared in three games with the Bears in 2005 and was allocated to NFL Europe in the spring of 2006 where he played with the Frankfurt Galaxy. He was signed by the Carolina Panthers in 2006 but was released during training camp on Aug. 26. Bienemann (6-5, 242) originally entered the league on May 2, 2006, with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Washington State. He was with the Saints during minicamp until suffering a knee injury and was released on June 3. Did a bag of weed and diet pills come with his signing bonus Maybe not, but there is a coach on staff that was an aggie offensive lineman so I am sure he will get the "don't embarass the program" speech.....
