So far this is stacking up to be one of the best years for the MEAC getting respect for our basketball programs. Signifigant out of conference wins: Morgan - Loyola Marymount, W. Illinois, UMBC Del State - Maine, (lost NC State by 2) Coppin - Navy UMES - Navy BC - Stetson Howard - Bowling Green, Loyola MD A&T - UNC-W, UNC-G Hampton - Winthrop, Fordham, Boston, GW, High Point, Ga State, Towson, Liberty (Should be 9 and 1 gave the game away againt Wake Forest)

i think its a good start for the meac. but quite honestly, these are teams we should be able to beat anyway, though we haven't done so on a consistent basis in the past. most of them are not high profile mid-majors and many of them have losing records. and the two close losses to acc teams? well, let's just say that acc basketball clearly ain't what it use to be. clearly it use to be the most dominant conference in the nation. but ever since they added the 3 big east teams, the conference has been "digressing" instead of progressing.
right now, duke is the only "quality" team in the acc. whereas historically, the acc normally would have "at least" 4 power teams every season. you'd always have duke and unc as power teams, then you'd have maryland, wake, ga. tech, nc state, and sometimes clemson as consistently top 25 ranked teams. but presently, duke is the "only" acc team ranked in the top 25. half the conference is now pathetic!

Signifigant ?? Wins yes, but most are not SIGNIFICANT..(...but quite honestly, these are teams we should be able to beat..... ) {Should be 9 and 1, gave the game away against Wake Forest) They would have had to beat VCU (not Winthrop to be 9-1 if they had beaten WF)

numberonebrave,
what the ___ are you talking about. Hampton Hampton has two loses one to Delware and Wake Forest. They have not even played VCU this year. Wake up.
And as far as the conference maybe we should beat other mid-majors on a regular basis; but it has not happen. This year we have had more success. Say what you wamt but does are good wins for Hampton and our wins over UNCG and UNCW are good wins as well.
Since you are so critical who has Alcorn beaten ? ahhh nobody
I realazie you are an Aggie as well but I never understand the point you are making with alot of your post.

....If Hampton had beaten WF in the Tournament they would have playred VCU not Winthrop in the second round.. VCU is clearly better than Winthrop, thus I am just saying they still would have been 9-2. Not to say 9-2 is not damn good.... but they would not just have one loss as you imply

i often wonder...
what if a&t put the money back into the mens program like they did when corbett was winning the meac... before meac schools started out spending us...
thats one reason why i have no faith in martins plan... what ever that plan may be... but if he doesn't realize the program making the money needs support.. then martin has everyone banking on a plan from someone who doesn't know the business of ncaa athletics...
