Yeah, Lee Woodson is beast! I thought Dominique Brown was a good punter but Woodson is just the same, if not better and he has the classic Janikowski gut...

I try not to read to much into the spring game reports. All I wanted to hear was that we had a full squad of players and they were in fairly decent condition. Other than that I think it's just to hard to speculate on how good these guys may be.

if i had known this was suppose to be a feel good thread about football i wouldn't have posted at all.... i can't help it if i fball is not exciting like it use to be....
as far as campbell ... he is the coaches favorite... so it wouldn't surprise me if he got the nod over miller.... even though miller is the better qb.... he may not have the gun cambell has... but he does other things better..... like he did sat....

I don't care about feel good. If you have to be negative, be negative about what you saw on the field. I would love to hear that, the more the merrier. As far as the Miller/Campbell issue goes, I agree that the Fobbs definitely wants Campbell to distinguish himself and win the job. That's because he sees his upside(6'5" with a gun). That's how coaches are. But I don't think he will compromise winning just to play Campbell. If Miller and Campbell are even I think he will go with Campbell. If Miller clearly puts some space between he and Campbell and Campbell does not improve his leadership and decision-making skills, then Miller will be given the reins and rightly so.

Campbell and gun don't go together!!! So end this gun talk.. (if having a gun and shooting it into the gound)!! Miller was alot better than Campbell on Saturday.... Miller was in control....! Maybe Campbell just had a bad day..! Fobbs needs to play the best QB!!! If not...the L's will pile up and he will be CALLING U-HAUL......................!

Oh Humm....much to do about nothing. That issue pretty much moot. The real battles will be at running back and in the o-line when everyone reports for summer school then fall camp. It's all about the offseason guys.... who prepares themselves by studying film, learns their keys, superior conditioning, be able to make plays, a team first attitude and limit mistakes.
That is Fobbs' standard.

What makes anyone think that Campbell is Fobbs favorite? Fobbs named Miller as his starter at the beginning of last season. As a head coach you would hope that all your players would step up and dintinguish themselves, especially Campbell with his size and arm strenght. Miller has the ability to make something out of nothing with his running. Unless some other QB steps up or we sign another QB, Miller and Campbell will be used like they were used last season, in certain situations. I hope one of them steps up and become the unconditional starter because that playing 2 QB's did not work last season and it won't work this season either.

That was basically due to the total lack of line play. They had no time to do anything. Campbell also seemed to have an affinity to throwing to the guys on the other team but if we had better protection and a better running game (or ran an offense that didn't require much passing or much from the offensive line other than angle blocking and cut blocking) then he wouldn't have been in that situation.
We're basically a jigsaw puzzle that was missing most of the pieces last year and is still missing the middle part.

Unfortunately there is no offense that doesn't require much from the offensive line

You gots that right. But even if you have five palookas up there if you teach them to cut block and angle block you'll move the ball. The defense'll be so scared for their kneecaps they'll slow up. Once you've got them playing tentative you're in the game. Once you're in the game you build confidence. Plus a strong running game builds toughness on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
Aw hell, you know that already. Pernt is we'll be better than last year but we're still a few years away.

I was sick last Saturday so I couldn't stay out there long, but the one thing I did notice is that Chancellor is the real deal. He is big, quick and a finisher. Our red zone scoring percentage should go up 40 percent this season.
