Now you just come to the spring game hungry and watch 80 guys whose number you can't identify run a couple of plays for 30 minutes and call it a day.
Yeah, that will really make me want to purchase some season tickets.

A story:
I was on a trip to New York with the Director of Operations of our company(my boss) and the Chairman of the Board. The Director was driving, the Chairman riding shotgun. When stopped at a toll booth on the Jersey Turnpike, the Director paid the toll($1.00) and then asked for a receipt. As we pulled away the Chairman looked at the Director and said,"Mike, what the hell did you get a $1.00 receipt for? What do you think we are a chicken shat organization?" The Director turned beet red and he didn't get another toll reciept the rest of the trip.

Max, I've now read this six times and I still don't know what the hell you are talking about. LOL! Thank you for your patience. ;D What do you think we are a chicken shat organization?Explanation: The Director was so concerned about policy, protocal, and procedure trying to show the Chairman that he knew how to follow the rules, that he forgot the big picture. The chairman busted his chops for such small thinking and concern over just $1.00 when there were more important things to do that day. Mike was so embarrassed, I couldn't look at him for the next few days without busting out laughing. He never thought small again. Five years later he went on to become an Executive Vice President and he never forgot that day. Lesson: Is anyone thinking about what the Spring Game could be or is A&T Athletics a "chicken shat organization" that only sees the next $1.00?

I am sure NOBODY currently at A&T understands what the Spring Game could be ... and honestly, if I had never gone to Texas A&M's Spring Game that one year, I wouldn't understand the magnitude of the event either.
I was so shocked by what I was witnessing (free programs to every fan in attendance, massive tailgating, over 45,000 fans, cadets perfroming at halftime, students standing up the whole time, former players acknowledged before the game, state-of-the union address by the AD before the game, discounted merchandise, etc.), I had to immediately call Dooms.
It was football heaven.

I remember that well. 'thrilla called me while he was in College Station and I was in Greensboro watching the A&T spring game. I think we had 200 that year with no band and no announcers. It was a pretty nice day too. It would've been a great day to get people out to support the team.
Oh well, another wasted opportunity. I guess we'll get it right in time.

I believe (but I could be wrong) that A&T head football coach is in charge and in control of the spring football game to include how he wants to present it and not the 'aggiemarketingman' and that's the way it is.

Fobbs is from Texas A&M. He was the running back coach that year I went to the A&M Spring Game. Every conversation Craig and I have had with him, he seemed eager to increase the visibility of the program. He was the one who wanted to do the Signing Day Party.
Fobbs is not the one stopping this event from happening. He probably just has more important things on his plate right now to worry about.

He's not stopping it, but he damn sure controls it. He decides how long they going for, what time of day, and how many breaks they will get. Until someone knows that then you cant put any events together. Someone has to talk to him first to get that info.

I was mainly talking about whether or not Coach Fobbs has given Keith his blessings to do something like what is discussed on this thread. Keith would do the organizing but before he can move into actions he has to be given the OK.
Coach Fobbs may want something low-key or maybe you are right, Thrilla, that nothing has been discussed among the people in charge.

Let's think logically for a minute and put aside whatever ant2003 said. Why on earth would Fobbs not want to green light an event that would heighten interest and support for this program. Hell, it wouldn't just be a great day for the fans - he could use the event as a recruiting tool for those last remaining D-1A and JUCO transfers he is trying to woo.
Fobbs is not the holdup. He comes from a school that went over the top with their Spring Game each and every year. He has told me personally that he wants to bring that kind of excitement here to A&T.

Well, ask him.

I shouldn't have to ask him or anyone else for that matter. I am not on the school's payroll; I am a fan. A fan with a fulltime job and a baby due any day now. And as a fan, I deserve to have my athletic department organize a decent Spring Game event and not come up with lame excuses on why it will require too much work.

Who this board is actually on the Athletic department payroll? I always hear a few people saying they do this or that, but cant really tell if they are in the athletic department or not.
