Ms.Tood asked that I inform the Aggie Fans on this board that we WILL be honoring Coach Bill Hayes at halftime of the A&T/NCCU game on Saturday September 22,2007. Coach Hayes has been informed by Ms. Todd that he will be honored and he was extremely moved to hear that this is going to take place. We are all of aware of the contributions that Coach Hayes made to Aggie athletics and the current administration (who was NOT here when coach was) is seeking to bridge the gap between the Aggies of the Bill Hayes era and the current Aggies, and to honor someone who in many minds is an Aggie legend... ( rightfully so)...So please advise all former Hayes players and friends that September 22 will be a very special day for ALL Aggies....And let the record show that there is NO bad blood between anybody in this office when it comes to Coach Hayes. We respect the contributions that he made when he was here.

Good. He deserves it. The folks currently in the athletic department or the new administration coming in a couple of months had nothing to do with the painful past history of his being ousted in 2002.
Maybe now we all can put this entire matter to rest once and for all and deal with the present task of getting the football program on track.

Hopefully, all will now be put to rest about naming the field after him. I'll compromise, name the lockeroom after him.

Good move, but I'd still like to see the field named after him. It would be the right thing to do.
