Professor has been a longtime and valued member of this website. But more important than that, I consider him a good friend.
Up until now, Professor's life has been somewhat of a success story in the sense that he graduated from one of the most violent and crime-plagued high schools in Guilford County and then went on to earn a college degree.
However, this week Professor's world will get completely dismantled and his heart will be crushed when his undefeated (and grossly overrated)Smith High School football team travels down Cone Boulevard to face the mighty Page Pirates.
This one is gonna get ugly ... fast.
Final score: Page 42, Smith 10

Smith is on a role, they will beat Page. It will probably be a close one.

Page standout has learned about football and more since immigrating
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 (Updated 6:54 am) By Jason Wolf Staff WriterGREENSBORO — Kevin Gillespie was teaching Vietnamese freshman Thuc Phan how to play football during a Page practice several years ago. The Pirates' coach wanted the young running back to go "off tackle." "He wasn't understanding where we wanted him to go," Gillespie said. "We kept telling him ... " "The far guard?" Phan asked. "And we just started dying laughing," Gillespie said. "That's what he called that guy. ... 'Yeah, yeah, Thuc. The far guard. That's where we want you to go.' " Some teammates and coaches still ride the senior (whose name is pronounced Tuck Fan) a bit during practice, being good-natured about it, of course. But now, on game days, the Pirates are riding Phan to victory. And Page (6-1, 2-0) expects him to come through again when the Pirates face visiting Smith (8-0, 4-0) in a critical Metro 4-A Conference game Friday. The tiny running back — he's 5-foot-5, 160 pounds — ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a rout of rival Grimsley on Friday, while also catching a 32-yard touchdown pass.
