For those of you who didn't know about this before today, Coach Lee Fobbs picked up a true blue chip running back recently via the transfer route. Fastest back at Clemson and the third leading rusher this past year in what was a very deep backfield. He'll have three years of eligiblity left at A&T. From Palmetto Sports - January 19, 2007 Former Tiger Finds New School By Phil KornblutFormer Clemson RB Demerick Chancellor (6-1 192) has enrolled at North Carolina A&T. Chancellor will be eligible to play right away for the Aggies. "I'm going to get to play a lot," he said. "I will have the opportunity to help out." Chancellor also drew interest from Texas Southern and Marshall after leaving Clemson. More info on Chancellor - clemsontigers.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/chancellor_demerick00.html

I have to ask, why did he leave Clemson? Is he a good student?

No off the field problems or anything remotely close to that. He's a very good student, just wanted more playing time. He was stuck in behind Davis and Spiller at Clemson who were were the ACC's leading rusher and rookie of the year respectively and wanted to go somewhere where he would play full time.
All three guys wanted out from Clemson. Davis has transferred out now as well and Bowden tried to talk both Chancellor and Spiller into staying. He convinced Spiller (barely) but failed with Chancellor. Fobbs had recruited this kid big time when he was Texas A&M so the relationship and connection was there already and things fell into place once he came up and took a look around.
We are pretty dog gone good at tailback with Chancellor, Ferguson, and a good looking JUCO kid who that we signed last month from California. We have real some speed and breakway threats in the backfield.
Now if we can get the OL and DLs to follow suit........

Fergu-who? Mike is cool people and all but umm he can watch from the sidelines ya dig...
It's starting to look like Fobbs is getting the personnel to run HIS offense because we definitely didn't have it last year. We had speedy receivers with suspect hands and slow running backs, now I see where he is going with this. My question is still Campbell or Miller? I don't think Herb left, I coulda swore I saw him on campus this semester

Neither Miller or Campbell are going anywhere and they'll be ready to go come spring practice.
The X's and O's weren't the problem. I maintain you can't coach what you don't have. We just had way too many kids who, although they tried hard and gave effort, just weren't ready as redshirts and true freshmen both physically or mentally to play college football out the chute last year.
Normally, you can play one or two kids in those starting roles and not lose anything. However, if you are forced to play all of them in every major role on the field all at once as Fobbs was last fall, then you're going to have a ton of problems in being overmatched and that is what happened to us last season.
I've always believed that the real improvement process and the development of a competitive team occurs between January to July and not during the regular season. Fobbs is in the process of making some real inroads this recruiting season to correct that situation but it still won't happen overnight.
BDV will be touching on the entire recruiting picture as we lead up to the national signing date over the next few days.

I agree. I still think it's going to take the OL until the middle of next season to really click the way they need to. They were very inexperienced. Hopefully Fobbs is getting some help for the DL and LB's. That's where we're probably going to need some talent.

Better everything. We weren't even in a game last year. We didn't ever show up. It's gonna take a lot more than good backs to right this ship. We all need to be patient now that we know where we stand (which is currently dead last).

At least we know now that the only way to go is up. All we can do is be patient and watch our boys grow.

I do think that Campbell is our QB. The coaches just have to take the time to develop him. I looked into that kids eyes this past season and he is still very young but he's got the eye of the tiger and the will to succeed but even he knew that the team was at a loss. As Todd would say; Stay tooned.
